SAMSUNG Galaxy Tab Active2 T397U model does not come with the phone app unfortunately, only the T395U model does.

It's a good tablet. Not great for drawing, as someone have said early, but it's just as great as it would be to write with S Pen. I just need to say that Tab Active2 has a mono speaker instead of the stereo speakers the specs page says it have.

Currently using this tablet (model SM-T390; wifi-only version) since 2018. Build quality is rock solid, and although it's on the hefty side in terms of weight (which is to be expected for a rugged, military-grade device), I can hold it one-handedly just fine. The display is decent for Web browsing and videos, but websites built for desktop can be a bit hard to read when fully zoomed out. Performance is also acceptable; 3D games like Asphalt 8 are playable with no major lags, but at the sacrifice of graphics quality and frame rate. The most serious limitation, in my opinion, is the meager 16 GB of storage space; more than half is taken up by the OS, leaving only a few GB usable for apps, music, videos and photos. For those reasons combined, I'll be upgrading to the Galaxy Tab Active Pro, which has 64 GB of storage as well as a better display, processor and battery.

Sammy managed to release, in 2020, an Xcover pro smartphone with removable battery and ip68. Now if this tablet gets a successor, then maybe I'll buy that one instead.

Anonymous, 13 Jun 2019If somebody cares: this tablet has received the Pie 9 update!Apart from the UI changes It would interesting to know if there are any improvements such as screen clarity (display settings, colour accuracy, etc.), general performance (like app loading & memory management), battery life, audio (additional audio settings, equalizers, etc.) and in terms of loudness & clarity et al.

The screen resolution is not even full HD 1080p and yet i read it is sharp and vibrant. True?

I am currently looking for an 8-inch Android tablet to replace my iPad mini 4.
Finding this for under £300/EUR300 would you consider this a good value for its specs particularly for watching Youtube, News, Weather, Wikipedia, Evernote, occasional Word documents, casual gaming, et al?
Or wait for the newer Galaxy Tab A 8.0 2019 with S-Pen?

This is not an ordinary tablet!
First of all it's tested and complies with military standards that you will find only on tablets 3-4 times more expensive.
The build quality is excellent.
There is the great advantage of the removable battery making ideal for long journeys.
This is a professional tool very carefully designed and crafted.
I have been using it for a few months and it became one of may everyday partners.
Fast,reliable and full of power will help you get the job done especially under tough conditions.
I could write pages about the advantages of this device but I suggest if you are looking for a professional tool ,read the owners manual and "keep walking ".And most of all it's a Samsung.
