Jaika45, 06 Apr 2024does infinix note40 block ads?No ads, and now we can uninstall more of the system apps. Just need to update the software once out of the box.

The only apps that can't be uninstalled are Phone Master and Xtheme I think. The rest can be uninstalled either manually or through ADB.

The main reason I switched honestly is because I was fed up with the slow storage access the Note 30 Pro exhibited. Took the plunge and it paid off, now I only wait half a second for the Files app to populate instead of refreshing it for the next 5 seconds lmao

Also, I opted for the vanilla Note 40 since I didn't want another curved screen device. Too much hassle and careful handling I'd care for for a daily driver.

                  ?

Curious User, 30 Mar 2024Thank you for your quick response. Does this phone tend to ... moreThe only "demanding" game I play is Real Racing 3. I know for a fact it can run 60+ fps on my Note 30 Pro, if locked to 90 then it's flat 90, if locked to 120 then about 100ish average.

Unfortunately the Note 40 only runs it at 60, tried all refresh rate settings too. I also discovered the display doesn't support 90Hz, strangely. Confirmed through ADB testing, too.

It doesn't *over* heat, just warm to the touch. Warmer than I remember from my time with the 30 Pro, but certainly not as hot as the regular Note 30. Yes, I also had that one for a week or two. Out of those three, the Note 30 is the worst offender. If I'm on mobile data for just a bit too long then I can feel the phone getting warm already, even with no data intensive use like scrolling Reels.

Regarding touch sensitivity, yes, it is a plus if it's highly sensitive but IMO only to a point. All of Infinix devices I've owned had stupidly sensitive touch responses, which is jarring if you're coming from another brand. The Note 40 tones it down to a more manageable level such that I don't mistype as often with it. To clarify, I've owned the regular Note 11, Zero X Pro, then Note 30 (both variants), and this Note 40.

Touch response rate is 360Hz, the 1500Hz claim (never seen the claim myself) is probably only under certain conditions, e.g. with certain games and/or with Performance Mode selected on the XArena overlay.

In the end, seems that upgrading from Note 30 to Note 40 is kinda optional here since you keep the most important like battery consumption, performance and stuff, but also a matter of taste, if curved displays works better for you or not.

I find it concerning if it gets hot during basic tasks. I suspect it's due to the absence of a vapor chamber, unlike the Pro version. Could you please test it by gaming to see if it overheats? I've noticed the Pro doesn't seem to have this issue, which is important to me. Additionally, regarding lower sensitivity, isn't that a downside? Generally, higher touch sensitivity is preferable, right? Also, could you verify the touch sampling rate of the Note 40 using an app? There's conflicting information, even on Infinix's website. Some places mention 360Hz, while others claim it's 1500Hz, which seems inaccurate. I'm eagerly awaiting your response.

                                    Note 40 pros:
                                    - Better display. Screen brightness is much higher, and IMO it's more comfortable to look at, if just slightly.
                                    - Speaker sound is more "full" but not at Samsung or Apple level. Still excellent since this phone is cheap
                                    - Better feel in hand. Note 30 Pro was stupid heavy, made worse by the fact it's top heavy where you won't have your hand supporting it.
                                    - Touch response is better, it's not as crazy sensitive as the Note 30 Pro. Less misinputs overall.
                                    - Storage access speed is much improved. Used to wait long opening Gallery and Files even when storage is less than 50% full.

                                    Note 30 Pro pros:
                                    - Heat is more manageable. Doesn't feel as warm doing basic tasks as the Note 40.
                                    - Cameras are a bit better IMO. Just a tiny bit.
                                    - Accessories are easier to find even shortly after launch in my region.
                                    - Wider aspect ratio so it looks better and not as tall. Just a matter of preference.
                                    - Screen is much cheaper to replace, if you're concerned about longevity and parts are available in your area.

The rest like performance, battery life, etc are about the same.

Infinix Note 40 vs Note 30 Pro which one should i buy and why explain in detail with pros and cons?
