Instagram is getting ready to allow multi-photo posts

Vlad, 01 February 2017

If you've ever wanted to add multiple photos on Instagram in the same post, like an album of sorts, well, then you'll be very happy to read about the social network's next feature. Instagram is in fact getting ready to allow multi-photo posts.

The feature is currently in testing in Instagram's beta app for Android, though some people are seeing it in the non-beta release too, even if it doesn't yet work as intended there.

It's unclear how long it will take for this to roll out to every single Instagram user out there, but once you get it you'll be able to long tap on a photo in your gallery to enter a multi-select mode which will allow you to choose other images, up to ten in total, to go into that one post. After this, you can add your preferred filters to every photo one by one, and then post the whole selection as an album in your timeline. Those who follow you will see one image in the post, but can get to the others by swiping horizontally.

If you aren't using the beta app, you may be able to select multiple images for a post and edit them, but trying to publish the resulting album will always fail with an error. Hopefully the testing goes well and doesn't take long, and the multi-photo posting ability becomes available to everyone soon.

Speaking of facebook, do we even need it? Twitter is enough for me. Its total copy. So stupid.

So... I don't see the point of Instagram anymore... The whole point of instagram was sharing one photo at a time, selfies etc... Now it will be another facebook... So, what's the difference between them?

Well done Zuckerberg, turn Instagram into Facebook. Cause that's working really well. Please stop ruining such a cool app. Please?
