Leak reveals Galaxy Note III will feature fingerprint sensor, KNOX

03 September, 2013

Someone managed to get their hands on the Samsung Galaxy Note III, make a list of all its APKs take a couple of screenshots and even run an AnTuTu test ahead of tomorrow's announcement. The phablet reports itself as Samsung N9005 running Android 4.3.

The AnTuTu score is around 24K, which is low for a Snapdragon 800 chipset (which is one of the two rumored chipsets for the Note II), it's about as much as what the Snapdragon 600 in the Galaxy S4 scores. The Exynos 5 Octa version of the S4 is even faster and the Note III is supposed to come with the updated version of that chipset.

We'll chalk this up to early software. Speaking of software, the list of APKs reveals KNOX features (Samsung's enterprise security platform, approved by the US Department of Defense), a FingerprintService, a "digital pen" service (S Pen), a ANT+ service (a low-power wireless tech for sports sensors), a cover lock service (for flip covers ala Galaxy S4), Evernote, along with some custom Samsung apps (the custom camera app, the S Planner, etc.).
