Root on kitkat: 2 methods, both somewhere on xda, with detailed instructions.
1) revert to 4.1.2, root, install recovery, upgrade
2) somebody made a stock 4.4 image with cwm recovery included, use cmw to install root
It appears there is an upgraded kitkat image version V20C, for now only avaible in Spain.

I want to buy this phone. It will be first smartphone. I read the comments and I am worried about the upgrade to android 4.4.2 kitkat. Is it necessary to make it? Or can I use my phone without having the upgrade?

hi, I upgraded to 4.4.2... it is slow, GPS connects once a week and radio works very bad, etc.
I found this website that claims it has original firmware. pls tell me how can I downgrade to 4.1 without loosing my warranty. thanks

For those who know how to reflash a phone with custom roms. There is a custom kitkat rom for this phone (search for amigakitkat) but it requires you to go back to 4.1.2, root, reflash recovery, reflash phone - don't do it unless you really feel comfortable with the posibility of bricking it.

AnonD-144375, 12 Nov 2014I also experience slow and lagged operation of my P710 afte... moreMine still lags big time after both resets. What's worse, lag is not predictable, sometimes it goes as bad as having to wait 5 seconds to see who's calling or 2-3 seconds to be able to unlock the screen
Try to use as few widgets on home screen as possible and don't install messaging programs unless you really use them (facebook yahoo skype etc. they all have running processes to enable them to receive messages)
Phone has too little memory and kitkat seems very badly optimized. Try to contact lg and politely complain to them.

I also experience slow and lagged operation of my P710 after KitKat upgrade.
Does hard/soft reset really fix this issue ?

your suggested settings made the phone/interface move slow lie a grandma
put those settings on OFF and u have a teenager
