Lumia 950 and 950 XL dummy units imported to India, release imminent

Himanshu, 19 October, 2015

A total of 1,000 dummy units of the Microsoft Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL smartphones - which were announced by the Redmond, Washington-based company earlier this month - have been imported to India. The information came courtesy of a local website Zauba, which tracks the country's import and export.

For those who aren't in the know, dummy units are usually used for display purposes at retail outlets, giving potential customers an opportunity to physically handle the device (check out its size and all).

Given that Diwali, one of India's biggest festival, is just a few weeks away, the development strongly suggests that the devices could be released in the country in the near future - both are currently listed as 'coming soon' on Microsoft’s Indian website.
