Of course this phone is perfectly fine with or without an unlockable bootloader. My only recommendation is for Meizu to release a global ROM of Flyme, one that isn't filled with Chinese bloatware.

How very unfortunate because literally everything about this phone is perfect except for the software. Not that it's bad (I love Flyme UI) but it's not suitable for use outside of China.
Imagine flashing a Pixel Android 12 ROM on this bad boy. That would be incredibly awesome.

Once Meizu can start providing updates and launch their products globally, they'll definitely be popular. They already make great hardware and decent software, but almost nobody buys them because of lack of support or just lack of carrier compatibility. I'd seriously consider getting the Meizu 18 if I could just get it to work with Sprint (we haven't switched over to T-Mobile SIM Cards yet). It's decently compact, has top of the line specs, and has been getting good reviews from the three sites that actually bother. For right now, I'm waiting for the Galaxy S22 for its 6.06" screen (I'd get the S21 but the main reason I'd get that is because of its smaller 6.2" screen, so if the S22 is smaller then I'll get that instead), and for Samsung being a brand I trust, but this would definitely be on the list with better support and more cellular bands. Hope Meizu can get the funds to do this soon, because they clearly have talent, but for now, they just can't compete with the bigger brands despite how good their hardware is.
