The difference version is kinda weird, they don't sell it as 8+256 and 12+512 but 12+256, why they think extra 4gb RAM without 256gb extension could make price 100 more dollars??

The only downsides are ufs 2.2 and lpddrx4 which most users won't care about. (The battery too but it depends on sot). You have usb type c 3.1 which doesn't exist even in some flagships. Very good cameras with 4k on selfie.

      If it had 5000 mah with slower charger (80 or 67 watt) it would've been better. Also it would have been better if it came with ufs 3.1 at least instead ufs 2.2.

          How or rather why do you downgrade to UFS 2.2 Storage from 3.1 in Edge 40 Weird Cost Cutting meassure there.

            It should rather had UFS 3.1 atleast with 5000mh battery. These two things are very important and it is disappointing at for this phone.

              3x telephoto, wireless charging, good display, video output and even charger in the box for sub $400? this may be one of the best midrange of the year

                    This spec was OK to this price. but the battery 4500mah is not good.

                      wait this is a midrange phone....... i couldn't tell until i saw the cpu

                        72.4mm wide, nice.. with one hand operated comfortably + eco leather, no needs for case

The predecessor for example had a bigger internal storage, little bit bigger battery then this one, but this one is not that heavy(186 g vs 199), it has a 3x optical zoom instead of 2x, and this is cheap, and finally, this charges faster wirelessly. So it has some advantages too.

                              Not bad for a mid-ranger phone!( I am talking about the camera specs) We rarely see a phone with such a chipset like this having a triple camera with 3x optical zoom as well!
                              As disadvantage, it has only a 4500 mAh of battery, they could have put at least a 4800 or 5000 mAh.

                                This is a beautiful phone indeed. moto has steeped up their game this year.

                                  Anton .el PAPI., 03 Apr 2024Did I read that right? ufs:2.2?Ya doesn't make any sense, it has USB OTG 3 and a display port 1.4 so why does it have UFS 2.2. I also read from other sources as new 7 gen 3 only supports ufs 3.1. So maybe a typo mistake or anything, cannot be sure.

                                        What a weird phone. On one hand, things like the display, cameras (on paper at least) are worthy of the "Pro" tag. Phone looks great and the fast charging (wired and wireless) is appreciable. And then you look at the price tag and think, "wait this looks too good to be true".

                                        And then you see where they've done the cost reduction. UFS 2.2 at this price point is laughable, even the Edge 40 had 3.1. LPDDR4X instead of LPDDR5. And then the scamcomm 7 gen 3 is not much of an upgrade over the Dimensity 8020 which Edge 40 has.

                                        Naming this phone as the Edge 50 Pro is a scam if you ask me, and further makes their phone lineup more confusing. This is nowhere near as good as the Edge 40 Pro, and it has some major downgrades over the vanilla Edge 40.
