I don't understand how a newer model can be so downgraded in almost everything from its predecessor 40 Pro

Not a bad phone but not a flagship grade device price is definitely awesome for said specs.

Anonymous, 05 Apr 2024iPhone 15 series phones use LPDDR5 RAM. iPhone 14 and 14+ w... moreOh, an Update on that after Storage benchmarks test of the Moto edge 50pro with ufs 2.2:

                  3rd: iPhone 15: 51473
                  2nd: Motorola Edge 50pro: 75930
                  1st: iPhone 15pro Max: 85788

Also because I found it funny:
Edge 50pro random read/ write: 894/545 MB per sec
iPhone 15proMax random read/write: 265/73 MB per sec
iPhone 15: 156/37 MB per sec.

The iPhones had a 50 and 70% lead in sequence read/write tests.

While the Moto got an casual 1473% lead over the iPhone 15 in random write.

And yes, even while transfering actual files and loading times in games, things were confirmed, it slightly beats competiotions ufs 3.1 using only ufs 2.2.

But the App loading speed part and 21GB file moving part was only compared to the oneplus Nord CE4 or whatever it us called.

The ultrawide is clearly worse, so is the telephoto, and while the main camera's 200mp resolution might be gimmicky, it's size certainly isn't. The ISP of the Edge 30 Ultra is also better.

4800 mah battery and an SD card slot would have made an improvement for this phone and it could likely still be under 400 USD. I can take or leave the aux jack, but it would be nice to have as well. Throw UFS 3.1 on it as well, and I would have had a phone I'd buy.

Either way, how Motorola has been naming their phones is rather odd. Feels like they're trying to trick people, instead of providing a proper smartphone for it's market segment. Not including an SD card + aux jack are blatant upselling tricks as is, letting uninformed people argue about still being in the past, let alone the naming scheme used here.
