LG working on new Sport and Style smartwatches

Ro, 09 May 2018

The Korean media received a tip from LG confirming that the company is planning to release new Wear OS smartwatches. According to an FCC filing, the device was supposed to feature cellular connectivity but this new report begs to differ.

It seems that along with cellular, LG has dropped NFC and GPS support, leaving only Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for connectivity needs. The report does confirm the previously speculated 1.2" display size with carousel-type navigation powered by Snapdragon 2100 for wearables, 768MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage. The casing is also IP68 protected against water.

In addition, the tip discloses the price range of the products - from $300 to $400. The available colors will be Aurora Black and Cloud Silver and should land before the end of this month.

But why? The only smart watches worth buying are Apple's. Android smartwear is just a big, glitchy flop.
