Replaced on one I got bought second-hand after rooting it Marshmallow with Lineage OS 16 and it goes as well if not silkier than before (amazing to see how little RAM occupies a clean install before beginning to install other apps as well as gApps). Even in 2022 it works well for Internet browsing, multimedia, casual games, and similar lightweight usage. The screen protector also got broken, but it can be removed in such case as it's glued and the screen below turned out to be fine.

On the bad side no microSD slot, which besides having to go with just 32 GB of ROM -little if you've to cram in files because you cannot depend of cloud services for whatever reasons- also means file transfer can be SLOW, probably because of mtp.

Things got better in speed after doing what you said. There are no any nobloatware apps on it, never was but was lots of data that was cleared and now it working much better.
Thinking now, its OS marshmellow, cant update higher officially, wondering if going for "other" ways for new OS, it would be even better?

bubbleboy, 29 Nov 2021Hello and please help. I have this tablet. Last few years ... moreThis is a fast machine and it shouldn't slow down unless it's running bloatware like many of the Google apps. So, to improve its speed, you need to DISABLE many of those unnecessary apps you don't use but are running in memory, sucking RAM, and CPU. To do that, go to Settings | Apps and then tap on the 3 dots icon on the top left of the screen and then tap on Show System to show all applications. Disable any application you don't need. Most people are not aware that Android tablets like this one and Amazon fire HDX 7 come with processors that are sometimes faster than their Apple counterparts but lag behind in speed because Google, Samsung, LG, and any other companies that use the Android OS choose to install their annoying bloatware that eventually slows down the devices they run on. Apple does a much better job policing the bloatware but you pay a higher price. Eventually, you get what you pay for unless you know how to beat the system.

                            Hello and please help.
I have this tablet. Last few years using it only for youtube music via bluetooth to HiFi system and it works... but only for that. Everything else is totally bad. Minute waiting for chrome and tabs... useless...

Is there any ways to speed it up?
I ve uninstaled everyhting and try reseting for factory reset and no help in speed...

Still currently using one everyday. Wife been hinting that I may need a new tab for Xmas but I've been researching tablets of similar size, performance and value...and kinda hard to find a suitable replacement. This tablet was the benchmark for all tablets in 2012 when it was first released, the update was done a year later for 2013 and it's still quite impressive in 2021 when comparing it with new tablets of similar specs.

It's ridiculous how this device runs LineageOS smoother than most of newer low-to-mid range tablets. I actually wanted to buy a replacement device in the original price range (250) - the specs are almost worse! Best tablet ever.

This device was one if the best tablets ever made. And it's still officially supported by LineageOS with Android 11. Amazing!
