The M8 is cheaper has beats audio and i don't see any better than M9.

The battery and thermals improved, and I got the latest version of Android (9.0 Pie).

I'm sure the phone was great when it first came out. I bought one last year and the general performance was good, but that short battery life, coupled with the intense heating and subsequent thermal throttling made it unusable for games. Even Plague, Inc. managed to make this thing feel like a toaster. The other problem was the weird thing with the batteries where they'd suddenly shut down at 10, then 20, then 50 percent after a few months completely ruined the experience for me. It's nicer if you're able to flash a custom ROM on it like I did, but because of the battery issues alone, I'd say this phone should be avoided like the plague.

I have an M9 and it has absolutely terrible sound quality, the speakers arent too loud and they certainly dont reproduce audio in a good way, it cant even beat the clarity of an iPhone 4, the M9 audio is so thin and feeble, it cannot even measure up to the old classics like Nokia N95 in audio quality. The only upside of M9 audio is that the speakers face forward and give a certain stereo experience.
The good with M9 is the excellent display, its both clear and have great color reproduction, no dirty tricks here, they dont need cold whites to make popping and unrealistic colors, its far better than any Galaxy AMOLED ever, and also better than iphone X/Xs/XsMax. Really good display, whites are slightly better than on earlier HTC flagships which tended to have too warm whites.
Number two good is the metal build, HTC always knew how to give users that premium feeling but the front facing speakers are far from premium.

I'm using m9 and this pops up on the screen and am unable to do anything other than to answer calls. "unfortunately, the process com.google.happy has stopped.

Galib, 14 Mar 2019Those who are facing issues with poor battery life like sud... moreIn most cases its just better to replace the phone, bc i first checked ebay and found new (open box tho) m9's for $127 each but i called my local repair shop and they said $150 for a repair, so it is cheaper to replace it, unless you know how to repair the phone becuase a new battery costs 7 bucks and tools are 50.

Those who are facing issues with poor battery life like sudden shut down on 40 or around 40 percentage or others issue, I would strongly recommend to replace your battery. It's a far better decision to replace the baffery rather than changing the phone. Before changing the phone, try changing the battery of your m9. I hope you guys won't be disappointed. Thanks :)

Bought this phone on release and it's still going strong. Everything still functions. It's specced well enough that it still runs todays apps and games with no troubles so I have no desire to get a new phone any time soon. Only flaw with this phone is that the battery sucks. I replaced mine about a year ago and it really made it feel like new again (you can do the replacement yourself as well, it's not too hard). The batteries are dirt cheap as well so I bought 2 of them.

Have been fan of htc for long. Bought this phone exactly 3 years from today. Still rocking. Other than battery which is average, i found its sound and camera to be the one of the best. Would recommend htc to everyone

for 4 month when I plug in the charging cabel the phone loses the SD card.
i have to restart for useing SD
have any of you have idea why??
