Moto E14 is coming with 5,000 mAh battery

Vlad, 18 April 2024

The Moto E13 got official in January 2023, and went on sale the month after, so on a yearly release schedule we're already way overdue a successor. And it seems like Motorola is actually working on the Moto E14, as this model has now started the necessary certifications dance ahead of its announcement.

The Moto E14 was spotted in the TDRA database in the UAE. That listing confirms its name and its model number - XT2421-14. At the same time, a TUV Rheinland certification reveals that the phone will have a battery with a rated capacity of 4,880 mAh.

These are marketed as 5,000 mAh typical capacity. The phone was tested for that certification with 10W, 15W, and 20W adapters. This could mean it will support 20W wired charging, but it's not necessarily a given that it will have a charger in the box - or if it does, it might not be the fastest one.

Those are all the details we have right now about the Moto E14, but since the certifications have started, we expect to hear a lot more about it soon. For reference, note that the E13 from last year has a 6.5-inch 720x1600 LCD touchscreen, the Unisoc T606 SoC, 2/4/8GB of RAM, 32/64/128GB of expandable storage, and it also has a 5,000 mAh battery just like its successor. The E13 charged at 10W maximum, so a bump to 20W would be quite the upgrade.

As these specs imply, the E14, like the E13 before it, should be a very affordable smartphone when it does launch. We'll keep you posted.
