Nvidia Shield gets Android 5.1.1, update fixes audio issues
Nvidia has rolled out an update for its Shield gaming-oriented tablet. The new firmware brings the Android version to the latest available 5.1.1 Lollipop.
The internal release number is 3.1 and the concise but to the point changelog states that on top of the new OS version the update brings the usual stability and performance improvements and system wide optimizations.
More importantly, the firmware includes a fix in the audio department, perhaps addressing a screeching speaker issue, reported by some users while playing certain games.

Nexus 7 does not have a microsd slot, so it's a no go for multimedia consumption in my books. Shield on the other hand, would allow me to carry over 128GB of multimedia high definition files on my travels and etc...

Yes, they did. I think that GSM Arena should write some short message about it. nVidia recall almost all tablets because of faulty battery...really bad news for all users of this tablet.
