Samsung to announce Exynos 2100 on January 12
Samsung’s in-house chipset to power its Galaxy S21 flagships is the Exynos 2100 and we now learn it will launch on January 12 – two days ahead of the global announcement of the S21 phones. Samsung is using the Exynos is back hashtag to market its latest flagship in-house chipset.
Based on the latest rumors the Exynos 2100 will be built on a 5nm process with ARM’s X1 prime core clocked at up to 2.91 GHz alongside a trio of Cortex-A78s running at 2.81GHz and four power-efficient Cortex-A55 cores working at 2.21GHz. They should be joined by the Mali-G78 GPU.
The Exynos 2100 is expected to power the S21 trio in India and Europe but it remains to be seen if more markets will also get this version. Regions like the US, China and South Korea would normally be expected to get Qualcomm’s top chipst, which in this case means Snapdragon 888 .
