AnonD-147044, 28 Oct 2014Rebranding is a common thing. They say its their next generation GPU which will be available in 2015 when its already available in 2014. If they're rebranding it, then at least give some high end offering which is better than the previous generation. The rest can be rebranded kinda like how AMD & Nvidia do with their desktop GPU's. I mean they at least got to earn the right to call their high end products next generation.

What the heck? This is the same thing as the Mali T760, not even their clock speeds are different. Both are based on 28nm nodes as well. Check the specs in the ARM website. I don't see why they would name it as T860 when its essentially the same GPU. I'm guessing that its because the T760 isn't selling very well as a GPU design. Its disappointing since their latest gen GPU's are already way behind the market leaders. When are they going to release GPU's which can go up against imagination's Power VR 6650 inside the A8x and the 192 core Kepler GPU inside Nvidia's K1.

Mike.M, 28 Oct 2014Does anyone know how the Mali-T860 will compare to the Snap... moreWell, considering it can encode/decode H.265 video on a single core, I'd say vastly more powerful. It should even outclass the Nvidia Tegra K1. Think about it, most mobile processors (the Snapdragons, the Tegra K1, and even the A8X) uses instruction sets from ARM, and these SoCs represents ARM's next generation of mobile SoCs. 2015 should be a great year for mobile, in terms of considerable performance improvement in both speed and power consumption. Welcome to the golden age, guys. Let's embrace it and take it in in stride.

600 series weren't popular, so as 700's. if they won't give access to high-end version to mediatek then it won't be popular as well.

So the next Galaxy S flagship will be as fluent as what Wave S8500 running BADA 2.0 responds. without any hardware and software issue. Exynos will be the next super SoC to make benefit of it.

Good job tech architects, who work hard in order to feed industry with such lubrication in processing hearts.
