Applaud, now tighten up your portfolio, and keep those phone as expensive as possible. Do not cater to the budget conscious and create a flop like Moto X.

MaxSmarties, 31 Oct 2014And you don't have any proof about that supposedly criminal... moreFailure to honor warranty is a criminal act, unfortunately its hard to follow up in Europe where they prefer to handle only individual cases without any company ever being punished for repeated violations. If HTC had done the same in USA there would have been class action lawsuits, HTC knew this so American customers got much better treatment and thats why HTC is still somewhat strong in USA, while in Europe they went from top to bottom in a very short time. HTC evaded lawsuits in Europe but their past behavior in the region has made them an insignificant player there.

Anonymous, 31 Oct 2014If the next HTC One has an improved 1080p screen, a 2.8ghz ... moreQHD screen is the in-thing for flagships these days, I expect nothing short of that (with much greater contrast ratio) for their next flagship.

I'm particularly happy for HTC on this. I've been following the company's dwindling financial position for sometime now and I've been really hopeful for a breakthrough for them. I dreaded the thought of the company being an acquisition target for prospective buyers.
As far as I'm concerned, HTC one M7 and M8 are best-looking phones on planet earth! I don't lay much emphases on performance these days because most flagships perform similarly these days, thus, design and build quality appear to be what separate them. In addition, in the software department, they've been awesome; very handy features in Sense, beautiful and mature UI and so on.
One area I've not mentioned is the audio quality of their devices, they've been awesome here. As of now, m8 produces the best quality sound via any channel: headphones, Boomsound speakers or external amplifiers). An audiophile like me, who's crazy about zero-stereo crosstalk and noiseless outputs, wouldn't have had a better choice.
The camera department is the only area I think HTC got it a bit wrong, because not many ppl actually like the 4mp ultra-px cam, which had its own strengths anyway. But it's all about listening to ppl, and I'm glad they've done just that, the "M8 Eye" is a proof of that.
HTC have all it takes to be the market leader in the smartphone world, they just have to do more in marketing. Although a good product markets itself, but you still have to give it an initial momentum. Brands like Samsung, Lg and Sony have other products that project their brand and they still invest in marketing, HTC has only phones (as far as i know), so they need to assert their presence more aggressively. For instance, here in Nigeria, ppl buy thousands of phones everyday, but there's no single ad on TV for HTC phones.
My final word to HTC: Keep up the good works (great build and design, great screen and audio quality, awesome UI etc), thanks for rivaling Apple in terms if design, and do more in marketing, then the sky would be your starting point!

Ohh I love my m8.. Won't give it for any other phone in the market.. It's smooth like butter.. Works like magic.. I have had all the HTC flagships since one x.. Got the one x, m7 and now m8.. Once I bought an HTC I haven't been able to work with any other device.. Got the s4, xperia z, note 2, oppo find 7.. Nah.. HTC wins.. Like what performance.. N I also visited their service centre as I had accidently caused a dent in my phones upper grill, they told me they'll repair it on the spot for like Rs.600.. Really love HTC..

AnonD-325875, 31 Oct 2014HTC deserves much better than this im still confused why pe... morePeople left HTC for defective products and no repair or replacement. Back in 2011 virtually all HTCs had serious issues and none of them were ever fixed with updates. Phones that got returned to HTC were put in storage warehouses and kept there till the customer got angry and demanded the phone back, and HTC was nice enough to return their phones, the problem was that they were unrepaired, or untouched even, the phones came back in the same wrapping as the customer had sent it in in the first place.

Lots of people have sworn to never deal with this criminal company again, me included. In SE Asia its already much easier to get service/warranty repairs on the new brands like Gionee and Xiaomi than HTC.
