It wouldn't have been way more useful if the screen folded over the top of the phone. That way, if the phone was in the shirt or trouser pocket, you just have to bring it up a little bit and you could see the notifications at a glance.

Having it at the side means you have to take the whole thing out anyway, kinda lame.

Yeah, all first prototypes are considered an experiment, don't call this a fad until you wait 3-5 years down the run. If you don't like it, it doesn't mean that other people won't like it. Maybe its just you and your ignorance to accept new things.

Im in US and yes that is extremely expensive for a contract. I buy cuttack free so 950 isn't really expensive for what you're getting.

abortonrange022, 03 Nov 2014I'm not in the US, so can anyone clarify the contracts? Is ... moreMost high-end phones are $199 with contract pricing. The Note series is usually $299.

This is incredibly pricey for a phone on contract. Actually, it's one of the highest contract price I've ever seen for a phone to date. For comparison, the iPhone 6 Plus 64GB version is $399 as well, but Apple products always come at a price premium.

abortonrange022, 03 Nov 2014I'm not in the US, so can anyone clarify the contracts? Is ... moreIt means you pay 400 upfront and you are locked in for 2 year contract agreement with the carrier(at&t or Verizon..ect) for service. So the rest of the $550 you owe for the phone is baked in to your monthly plan. you will still pay the whole amount you owe for the phone at the end of 2 years or maybe more. I know this cus I have At&t for the past 14 yrs.

too much for an Unproven product. There's no proven benefits for the price justification. $400 on contract is plain silly. IPhone 6 and iPhone 6 + are $199 and $299 respectively. Those two are already considered to be on the high side for on contract prices. So good luck to Samsung's new product. Looks very similar to first Galaxy Gear product release.

Hilarious pricing. And paired with a Gear S phone-watch thing? Haha. Who does Sammy think they're kidding?

950 dollars so like 1200 euros here in portugal, same bullshit every time

I'm not in the US, so can anyone clarify the contracts? Is $400 on contract really expensive? Also, what is considered cheap on contract?

hmm. the market prototype finally surfaces! i hope it impresses the hordes of sammy fanfs. to those who can get it, i say good luck. i will stick to the tried and tested. the note 4 (sm n910f) its better not to play test subject.
