AnonD-205659, 16 Nov 2014Would be a really bad idea to make a Jolla tablet right now. Agreed +10. OEMs on w/e OS should tighten up their "A" game on phones 1st before scaling up to tablets.

...something big! Right!... They are going to announce that the company close for good! Because the sales of the first phone was a total flop!! LOL
Numbers speaks themselves! People can tell a lot of crap! But reality in every years statistics says always the same:
                    65% use android
                    30% use ios
                    4% use microsoft
                    1% everything else
...and inside this 1% there are the 3 only people in the world that bought the first jolla phone! HAHAHAHAHAHAH LOL

They will talk about how different the OS is, how easy it is to use, that even lunatics can use it....and then use a screen with a pixel density around 100 PPI.

And there will always be Android manufacturers (for example Chinese brands) who will continue to use SD cards and internal storage.

And meanwhile, what is Google doing? Everyone can see that they are pushing us towards cloud and web, the iron maiden is closing on us slowly but surely, the support for SD is diminishing fast, the internal storage is the next barrier to fall. Androids future lies solely in online apps, in fact iOS is our last stand despite its hate for SD and other external storage. I love my SD card and i have no doubt Google is the enemy in this regard, Android may look like your friend today but it is the enemy of your future.

My bottom line for Jolla, i think they blew their biggest chance by launching a device with so underwhelming specs, qHD isnt good enough for webbrowsing, even 720p barely is unless you use only mobile version websites (not an option for most people). The display is the most used part of a smartphone and failing in this area is not ok for most enthusiasts, and enthusiasts were the only chance Jolla had to make sales. Im having serious issues with my 768p phone, which is noticeably better than 720p, after downgrading from 1080p, going 540p (!!!!) is not an option, Why oh why did they do that epic blunder, failing so badly on the most important part? The slow start this caused was probably the last nail in Jollas coffin, they only had a steep hill to climb back then but now they have a whole mountain to climb, the hardcore Nokia fans are no more, they all moved on and converted. To use a metaphor: You just cant go back and sell bibles to people who have already embraced islam.

All the people talking about apps are on the wrong side of history. Apps are dead within 3-5 years. The web will be compatible with many functions we need from Apps. We are already hearing of Skype integration with the web that it will work from the browser. All of this is coming.
