19 November, 2014
It comes out ahead in all categories. Samsung's Super AMOLED tablet does quite well too.

There's hardly any comparisons, why even post? The Z3 has an equal if not better screen than the 6+. Although some sites complain about colour accuracy, they fail to mention it's adjustable.

iFans be like "well it's amoled and it's oversaturated!"
NOPE. DisplayMate says so. The colors are more accurate than your typical IPS LCD. Sorry iFans. You couldn't brag iPhone 6 has the best display.

Here come the delusional people to try to counter argue and say that it's fake and false because of past experience with amoled. No its not over saturated, its the best display on the market, we don't care about your opinions and what you think is right when its not, just shut up and take the L and know that the note 4 has the best Display.

iPhone just a overpriced with nothing new inside. Just a brand status and nothing more than that.

And there you have it, folks. Despite only being around 4 years old, AMOLED mobile displays have surpassed LCD in nearly every way measurable.

AMOLED has proven to have better colour reproduction, better power characteristics (assuming average white level of ~50%), better contrast, larger potential color gamut (sRGB is very small and not representative of human vision), faster switching speeds, thinner screens (fewer layers), integrated touch-sensor, etc. And the price of production is falling -- it may soon be cheaper to produce compared to LCD as demand increases. It is clearly a better technology for mobile displays.

And since only the pixels that are lit need power, it should allow for always-on displays. For smartwatches, this is a no-brainer. It should be possible to have a smartwatch that actually displays the time without needing to be woken up. Ditto for smartphones.

kiza, 19 Nov 2014some of products from this list are older than iP6. how can... moreThe iPhone was labeled to have the best LCD in a smartphone. So the answer is, those added to the test are either not smartphones and/or have something other than LCD technology (for example AMOLED), in this general (not just LCD or smarpthones) shootout.
