Thicker hints at additional cooling for x86-64 so this is likely the Macbook Air replacement with touch screen and hopefully with precision pen. Apple needs to make this happen since both iPad and Macbook Air are being killed by the likes of Surface Pro 3.

Apple don't need to merge the ios and osx...They need an iOS with multiple windows and add user accounts.
I really thing at 12" to add multiple windows it would be nice.

They already merged their MAC's and their iPads into a single Market. They did this to make their PC market share look better.

Its should be an ipad woth running os x and it call ipad pro... I thinks its better... but if they just make it 12inch and the same ios hahaha sorry for that apple... its better to use macair 11inch... pls apple make it ipad with os x

If this isn't aimed at competing against the Surface Pro, it would be a pointless new lineup. Most people already feel that iPad Air is too big. A 12" Tablet will be unusable if it isn't a Tablet/Notebook hybrid.

If this thing had a couple of USB ports and a Thunderbolt port then it would replace the Air altogether (with added keyboard attachment). But then what about the OS....
