This phone is fit for emerging markets dominated by Samsung garbage and Huawei trash phones selling above $200

As of yet, Motorola has no clear decision on what CPU they would slam on the upcoming Moto (x). We're not even sure, it's a Moto E

Attractive price, blinding bright design, droolable specs but how about future OS updates on this one? Mi3 got Lollipop testing in tow (http://www.gsmarena.com/xiaomi_mi3_50_lollipop_update_in_testing_release_imminent-news-10218.php) and I've even recently read somewhere a rumor that Xiaomi will cover Lollipop updates for their flagships first and have their Redmi 1s and Note lined up next by Q1 of 2015. At least there's a rumor. Over a year ago, I used to take rumors a spoonful of sugar until official announcements surface or the release happens. But recently I've noticed, rumors have been growing to be more accurate than they usually do before (dare I say, improved?). So recently, it goes the other way around for me: I'd believe spec rumors, especially if aided by leaked benchmarks, until companies start announcing or releasing devices (whether they make last minute modifications or not). If they did made last minute modifications, that's the only time I could say the rumor failed to spoil me, but surprised me instead.
If you're a fan of being up-to-date with system/firmware updates, just like those Xiaomi models, that is probably one thing Moto G1, Moto G2, the Moto E or even the rumored upcoming Moto E2 have the advantage over this phone (at least maybe until Lenovo announces an update for this phone - if that ever happens).
This low cost K3 might be a hit to markets where there are no official/physical/authorized Motorola retail stores and service centers. Philippines only has one surviving kiosk of Motorola and no service center. You could actually get them online and at least a year of warranty for them but it's a gamble/risk. Lenovo mobile Philippines does not even bother nor plan to sell Motorola phones in their own Lenovo stores. I get it, though, that it is not their call for doing such. But still Lenovo K3 possessing that low a price could easily make it to anyone's option lists

For example an iPhone 6 which costs 750$ has a production cost around 210$, Xperia Z3 which costs 700$ has a production cost of 244$. The rest of the cost involved is for research, advertisement.
If the manufacturer chooses to go with decent specs without lot of investment in research ,using the cheaper alternatives ( like SD vs Mediatek, less memory but SD card slot), less investment in ads and lower profit margin the price can be very very low compared to the competition.

Bring it to Malaysia at $129 within 14days.
For this specs, it only can Sell at $129 or RM449
provide there is no 5mp Selfie, also to be competitive enough to Xiaomi Redmi's 2nd Gen.

This phone only works with China Mobile TD-LTE/TD-SCDMA. If there is a TD-LTE/FD-LTE/WCDMA version it will cost more.
