What exactly means "free in the first year of availability"? Does it mean that we will have to pay for the operating system after that. Do we have purchase it or pay a periodic license fee for it? Well in that case I would like to sell my Lumia 1320 at the first opportunity and maybe try Tizen for God's sake!!!!

Shellshock, 22 Jan 2015Sorry to say, but after iphone every brand took a big step ... moreSorry to say, but (just from the top of my head) in 2002 SonyEricsson already had something that pioneered what 5 years later would become an iPhone, it was called P800i. They didn't stop there, 3 years before the iPhone they already had a very nice product called P910i.

Microsoft was also starting to have PDA's with mobile phone built-in. Palm was lagging behind with a somewhat more mature OS but older technology (think of them as todays BlackBerry). All of this YEARS before the iPhone.

The iOS the debuted with the iPhone was a repackage of someone else's ideas (Symbian, Windows CE and Palm) which took advantage of the "newly affordable" capacitative screen technology (made by someone else) to make (what was at the time) a better package.

iPad was Apple's true innovation, not the iPhone.
Take note and remember that as your "go to" reference -- maybe you won't sound as crazy and uninformed in the next argument.

Everything else is just someone else's technology repackaged in Apple's own way, which pretty much validates my original point: "Apple is good a repackaging someone else's ideas and marketing them so that gullible uneducated consumers believe they are the ones "innovating"".

Finally a Windows OS that makes sense. However it will not stop me from wondering why does Microsoft keep repeating this incredible same mistake and for years now, now it outs a good OS, then followed by a bad one, then by a good one hence and so forth. In my opinion, W8 was a fiasco in many ways and has been known to be amongst others a part of the decline in PC and laptop sales. Now with W10 OS, things should stabilize and consumers should now have the choice of which platform/s they should use for their daily needs.

Windows 10 for phone is much better, than I expected. Promising.
Now it is a solid base for a phone ecosystem, the entire platform faith now in the developers' hand. W10 for phone needs a lot of quality app. :)

In 1998 Apple was the first to discontinue parallel and serial ports in favour of USB. They were not the first to implement USB but the first to use it solely.
