Its the worst i seen, not washed out but looks extremely fake and stupid, colors are so wrong and oversaturated that it hurts the eyes from far away. Samsung has been criticized for this in the past, having cold oversaturated colors on the AMOLED displays but none were even half as bad as Z3, and now Samsung has improved a lot and made the colors almost acceptable.
Its getting worse, Sony will destroy the Z2 and Z1 Compact with software updates, they will get the same laughable colors as Z3. Refer to the color charts in the Z3 review over at PA for a good laugh, and having tried a Z3 in real life all i can say is that it looks even worse in reality.

Washed out Colors on z series! Have you seen/hold/used z ultra, z1 compact, z2, z3, z3 compact? The screen is on par with any other ips display in the market! (I've not mentioned z and z1 because they do have mediocre display).
Just complaint out of your prejudice!

Design was gre... moreseriously if you don't have an xperia z series smartphone starting from z1 compact beyond you should not judge their screen. I had a Z and I admit that colors are washed out and it has one of the worst 1080p LCDs I have seen in a phone. But when I had a Z2, I would say the difference is as big as your mother.

Using Glass on mobile phones is simply ridiculous, and it's a shame some people find that "premium". LOL.
