If three buy O2 with their unlimited mobile data philosophy they may well damage BT unless BT can buy back into mobile . I disconnected my BT cable years ago.

Anonymous, 26 Jan 2015Consumer prices surely would go up but thats what happens i... moreEE ? is Orange in disguise,customer services is obsalete.they dont understand or dont want to when you got a complaint.then there signal is diabolical and rob pay n go customers of there pay n go credit.this story went on 4 5yrs ago b4 the french took over.they robbed of £25 20ll of my pay n go credit.rang customer sevices 22 times and did they wana no. NO ! wouldnt touch EE with a barge pole again !

Last time I checked three had the worse customer service around and if this goes a head that would mean less choice for the consumer.
So that's O2 broadband sold and now their mobile network (maybe), that would be a real shame, as that would mean a good ISP gone (from my point of view). Can't really see my self sticking around if that happens.

Price wise they are on the high side (still not as bad as Vodafone mind). O2 have the best of all aspects - with its 2 major partners too (Tesco Mobile and Giff Gaff).

O2 are known for great customer service and three are known for poor service - so guess which way that will be going if three owners buy O2?

Well,im on Three and love my unlimited internet for £15 a month,but if that goes then so does my smart phone,cus lets face it without unlimited internet then what good is a smart phone! Without sufficient internet nothing is gona work on ya phone any way.emails,notifications,ect ect.it be cheaper to run a car if unlimited goes out the window with Three !

lets hope that three does a better job of getting 4G out to all the villages and towns that are still on slow connections,02 have been incredibly slow upto now. been waiting for 4g in my village for the last four years,kept saying it was coming but still no good,I sincerely hope that the CEO of three will get on top of the backlog instead of increasing prices and skimming profits off for the shareholders,please make good on the timescales for doing this,4g has been around long enough now that pretty much everybody should be able to connect to a fast web connection and not have to pay the earth for it is data plans\costs,well I suppose I can dream.

The merger/acquisition should not be allowed and EE should be split into two similar size units + or - 20%

I don't think prices will increase, at least not "dramatically".
Hutchison run Three on the ethos of being the best-value network. Their ethos won't change now simply because they're acquiring another network. It is an ethos, that has seen Three go from the small newcomer network to a front-runner.
Their vast increase in customer base will simply lead to their increased revenue leading to more network innovation. The market is stagnant in the UK at the moment and this will breathe more life into it.

Three is already the best network out there, easily about £5-10 cheaper per month than nay network plus no roaming charges, etc...i think this is the best deal possible, because the one thing that 3 lacks is not the best coverage (although i would argue against that too, becase where i live, outside Glasgow, 3 is the only one that works)....

Consumer prices surely would go up but thats what happens in life everything goes up just great to see that EE finally will get a little competition where customers are concerned but there still a huge gap for them to make up if they want catch EE on 4G development and service.. K@EE

Sorry but why? the deal is touted at being £10.2 billion. so this means that there will be only 3 major networks in the UK as I'll imagine that three will absorb O2 into its rank and file and keep the spectrum of the network.
Hutchison Whampoa already owns O2 Ireland, so it means its cash up and extras for Three.
But time will tell with whats going to happen price wise

It's all about greed... You'll see all the tariff prices increase dramatically. I hope ofcom don't allow the deal to go through beteen the two networks.
