Although it was never too difficult to buy a One via the invite system it is even easier now that on a Tuesday no invite is needed.
      Great phone incidentally!

I do not understand why some people are whining about how hard it is to get the OnePlus One. I got mine just the other day when I decided to buy one.
All you have to do is : register on oneplus forum, that's it. There are lots of guys there giving out invites for free to ANYONE and EVERYDAY!!

Honestly after all the trouble i saw and read about concerning 1+1 (long story)i stopped recommending it to friends especially after what Cyanogen did in India. 1+1 is dead to me at least till they find another software company and stop denying defects in their phones.

Can anyone name an actual flagship smartphone that the OnePlus One killed?

Given the annoying invite process that delayed wide availability of the phone for six months--far worse than the usual rush of orders and lack of stock with a new popular phone--and given the completely dishonest claim that it would be a 5.5" screen in a 5" phone--which disappointed so many people with a lie that would be obvious as soon as the phone was released--it was more of a self-inflicted wound. I fear the only flagship the OnePlus One killed was itself.

The OnePlus 2 may also fall victim to the OnePlus One's drive by violent streak. I can't imagine people taking OnePlus's absurd dishonest claims very seriously the second time around (although there are a lot of suckers out there).

Appleman, 26 Jan 2015LOL manufacturing issues. Snapdragon over heat fact. Hence ... moreWell the Snapdragon 801 in my OPO rocks. It rarely get's above 50°.
I remember my Nexus 5 going up to almost 80°.......
Let's hope Oneplus goes for another chip if the 810 really overheats that much.

ciquta, 26 Jan 2015totally agreeTheir contract with Cyanogen has only ended for India. So there is a more than 50% chance it will be available with CM in non-India, non-China countries. Although they are coming up with their own UI it is expected to be very stock-like in experience- so no gloat, no bloat, no useless apps. In essence it's like the successor of successor of nexus 5 (one being the spiritual successor).
Hope they don't increase the price of 64gb version beyond their 350$ like Xiaomi did...

Got my OnePlus One in august 2014, after 1 day of searching for an invite.
For its price/quality/hardware/sofware ratio it was the best phone of the year. Period. In august was almost half the price of M9 and SG5 and, a little later, 3 times lower than Iphone6 (with 16 GB, not 64 like OPO, network free prices, not subsided ones, of course).
I'm huge fan of HTC (build quality and Sense), but the camera of M7 and M8 was a deal breaker for me due to phone price. If the M8 would have been priced same as OPO, maybe I would have doubts, but its price, OPO was the obvious choice. We pay to much for secondary elements (like marketing and other services) and OPO it's the proof that a phone can still be successful even if it lack those

Dont want to wait months for invite and another 3 months for support.
