I last owned an iPhone 4s and a HTC one s, which was half the price.bthe HTC one s peed all over the iPhone in every way, power, performance, camera and web browsing.

All the Samsung S phones are well over priced, but not compared to bloody apple phones and their pathetic screen sizes

So there... moreOctacores aren't for performance, they're for better battery life! my galaxy tab s is no powerhouse with an octacore processor, but it uses the lower powered quadcore processor when it's not under a strenuous workload, and uses the more powerful one when it is!:) so yes there definitely is a benefit to using an octacore processor. My s5 uses a 2.5ghz quadcore processor for everything and although its battery life is really good, it just doesn't compare to my Tab S! :)

Does any believe anything Samsung (or Google for that matter) claim any more? I wonder how these figures have been doped or how many minutes they can be sustained before clocking down.

Here's a figure I'm after. What percentage of Android fans realise the quick & dirty compilation on install shaves double-digit % off the real-world performance of the vast majority of Android apps. How many do we think?

The amount of cores doesn't matter.

The single core performance is the most important. As most apps and games are single threaded.

The single core performances increased dramatically over 5433 and the Multicore performances are the best that we've seen ATM.
Yes Apple does design the A8 but Apple needs Samsung. They cannot find any other supplier that can manage the demand from Apple. I don't understand why you are claiming that Samsung can't make chips to A8's caliber looking at a 7420 benchmarks.
