AnonD-259545, 13 Feb 2015It's just my view... I think ms gave the technical preview... moreif you read the source, Microsoft already explained why flagship lumia icon/930/1520 is not included in the initial release build.

To those who own high end Lumia phone. Be patient. Go to window central website and know the reason why Microsoft didn't give us the update. These is some cool features need to be test before releasing it. This features is only available for high end Lumia. My suggestion to those who own wp devices. Do go to window central website to know all about wp news. If you follow the news, you will never disappoint buying wp phone. Don't listen to android fanboys. They're all full of crape..

For the people wondering on why the high-end Lumia did not get the update see the post below. This is a extract from http://wmpoweruser.com/ giving the microsoft reason:

"Some context on why we chose these and not higher end phones like the 930/Icon or 1520: We have a feature that will be coming soon called “partition stitching” which will allow us to adjust the OS partition dynamically to create room for the install process to be able to update the OS in-place. Until this comes in, we needed devices which were configured by mobile operators with sufficiently sized OS partitions to allow the in-place upgrade, and many of the bigger phones have very tight OS partitions.

Note that this doesn’t mean that Windows 10 will take more disk space than Windows Phone 8.1, it’s just a function of the upgrade process at this point. Once the partition stitching feature is completed, many more devices will be supported."

                It's just my view...
I think ms gave the technical preview to low end devices so that it doesn't hurt the user when the phone crashes or become unusable due to bugs as much as it will when the flagships crash....or maybe they wanted to see how it runs on lower 512 Mb and 1gb ram devices.

Most features it that video are still not available in windows 10 preview. The update runs like Android on low end phones. Some settings are just there but do nothing at the moment. This not like GDR 1,2 updates but its a real beta which will need lots and lots of work to be useable. If you have just one phone, don't update. It lags, crashes need restarts and is not useable.

Just wait for better builds to release.

Mus, 13 Feb 2015u obviously don't own and has never owned a WP. Not allowin... moreI don't need to make you believe what I own and what I don't. if you have gone through the WIN 8.0 update, you should know you can choose the app running in the background to a complete stop. The feature was missing since 8.1. If you go to battery saver, You can choose to control which apps should run in background or not. Yet with this control, you really don't own the complete control of any Apps. Even if you close any app,There are different Apps that run in the background from 15 mins to few hours. I already said about the battery, never complained its 3400MaH capacity. The best in-class now. If you are not drunk, pls read carefully.. I said some of these apps still run on the background taking its juice. I own my 1520 RM-938 Pentaband for almost a year. I still know how to get a stand-by of upto 2 - 2.5 days with it. I also use a Lumia 625 and used a Lumia 1020. I just have to say it. In past , I owned a N82, Nokia 6233,Nokia 6600 and Nokia 1100. My love for Nokia started from there. Now that the company is no more. Nothing much to hope that MS will still continue to provide the services(Always Satisfied) Nokia had offered.

                              No build preview, what happened?

WIN, 12 Feb 2015I use a 1520. One of your flagship model. No Windows 10 Tec... moreu obviously don't own and has never owned a WP. Not allowing apps to run in the background has been implemented since WP7.5 and in WP8.1, it's in battery sense. if u had a 1520 ( or any WP), u would have known that. And even if u don't, complaining about the 1520 battery with background apps running just makes ur comment really silly. The 1520 till this day has own of best battery performances with whatever scenario (including letting most of the intensive apps running in the background0. I have tried one for couple of days and i couldn't get to 10% through my trial after extensive usage ( gaming, web browsing , video, music, internet calling, putting apps in background....etc).
so, please just troll somewhere else. MS has provided something that no one has ever offered which letting ordinary people to try unreleased software, so it's really shameful to troll after that amazing gesture.
