They can't sell their accessories to the countries where they already released their phones. Instead they selling in countries where they haven't released their phone. What do they think they are doing?

I'm not surprised, XiaoMi is having availability issues with their phone, that's probably the 2nd reason why they won't sell their phones, first being something related to copyright crap.
The Piston earphones are quite good actually, audio quality, build quality and all that and the price tag is great.

Xiaomi CANNOT sell phones is the USA due to logistics, Xiaomi cannot satisfy demand in China and India the number one and number two countries for mobile phones.
The phones are sold out in seconds already and if it opened store in the USA supply in China & India would suffer.
Selling accessories in the USA makes sense as Xiaomi will make more profit per item.
There are some comments which shows "read one article and make an absurd assumption"
The only problem Xiaomi has is with Ericsson in India "

Xiaomi are paying Google to use Android etc, the only reason Xiaomi in not in the USA is it CAN'T already supply the two markets it is already in.
Many companies are losing market share to Xiaomi, Xiaomi are not selling top of the range phones but mid range phones, whose specs are more than adequate for many

It is already a lottery to actually get a Xiaomi phone it is due to the phone being sold at near cost that makes them so desirable.
When the next alternative costs a lot more but comes in with lower specs increases demand for Xiaomi phones
There is a price increase also due to exporting, Xiaomi phone model cost more in India than in China just over the boarder
Import duties would add to the cost of Xiaomi products.
Buying a phone by lottery is not the way I want to upgrade a phone, expect "sold out" all the time or it is easier to get an IPhone than a Xiaomi if Xiaomi were in the USA

The Front facing cam plays in a different league - some ppl use this more often than the rear one. The build quality and the quality look and feel is much better, the steel frame that fits perfectly gives you the feeling the device u hold in your hand is worth the money. The rear camera often makes better photos, depends on the lighting. I would say its a draw when it comes to the rear camera. The display is another story, galaxy s5 has better feeing angles but the mi4 is brighter, its "shining" more. So, shouldn't the question be what advantages does a galaxy phone with the same price has?
If the mi4 or its successor would be available in the us or in Europe, the service and the LTE will work so you cannot use the negative points it has now with the cheaper price tag.

Some Chinese companies, like Xiaomi, are simply stealing IP. This allows them to sell phones in China, but not on other countries where international law applies.
So, unless Xiaomi starts to pay what they should, there is a real reason for them to be banned from western markets. On the other hand, Apple is playing according to international laws (or paying compensations when they infringe them). This makes all the difference...

It doesn't mean that no one is buying their stuff but their popularity is waning. At the current rate of growth Xiaomi may become the number 1 phone maker but if their prices go up, that won't happen.
So I'm sure you and others will buy their stuff if it was more expensive but I doubt that they would achieve the world dominance the keep talking about.
