It depends exclusively on the compression and bitrate.

If you have a low quality (DVD/10 mbps) 1080p video, shooting it at 24fps, for 60 seconds will cost you 105MB's.

Now let's convert that into a high quality (BRD/30 mbps) 1080p video, shooting it at 60fps, for 60 seconds: 380MB's.

So if you were to be shooting at 480fps, or x16 greater than 30fps, you'd be recording at anywhere from 500MB's - 3.2GB's.

That doesn't seem like a lot, but then it is for ONE MINUTE.
So the storage requirements will easily rack up.
So that a 10-minute video can cost anywhere from 5GB's to 32GB's, but on average more like 14GB's.

So yeah, quality is not just about frame rates and resolution... but getting more of those things costs more storage space.

Meh. I had high hopes for the MX4, but the camera was a total dud.

Pixels are for the dumb and have little to do with photo quality.

And really, the speed race is great, but in real life, the bumps are not noticeable. I wish they would focus on putting out a great product, instead of on specs.

FG, 24 Feb 2015Meh.. nobody will buy this phone anyways. FG7M people in China preordered the MX4. Meizu was one of the first before Xiaomi to make smartphones offered at affordable prices. They have started to expand beyond their base. People will buy MX5. Meizu is more popular than the Nexus line and Motorola phones.

They were already boasting with a 400+ fps capable CPU (MTK6595) back when they launched MX4, but its frame rate was still 120fps at the lowest resolution.

Phones right now do 60fps tops; 480fps would require 8x more processing power, and i kinda super doubt the 810 snapdragon, or whatever they will use, will be able to do this...

Anyway, if this really is true, then.. prepare yourselves for some really long vines! :P :)))

Will this kill the king of compact digital camera on a smartphone, Nokia 808 PureView? Really would love to see how this fair with it. But still, this phone lack xenon flash.

Finally, a 41 Megapixel camera with a competent OS.

Nokia 808 was the last great shooter, and it's going on 3 years old with an antiquated software stack.

Lumia 1020 was a nice try, but the OS limited hardware processing and images had to be rendered in software. A shame that Microsoft couldn't provide low-level hardware access to Nokia. But I guess that was part of their sabotage.
