thats nice to hear on paper but in real life mediatek is nowhere to snapdragon i have used qualcomm and mediatek both high end phones. no doubt qualcomm is unbeatable. regarding gps and location service mediatek sucks while qualcomm dont take more than 2-3 sec to get connected with satellite. even the most basic thing on a phone is network connection which also sucks qualcomm wins anytime. i think mediatek still needs to do lot of work to get in competition with qualcomm.

            Now that is innovation.
Mediatek is doing to Qualcomm what Qualcomm once did to Mediatek.
Now it just needs better GPUs to seriously challenge Qualcomm.

It's rich to see MediaTek pushing for an "open standard" when they themselves never have played nice with GPL releases.
