Congratulations to them then. It's clearly forced Samsung to pioneer even harder in design and function. So I am not going to complain about that. However, I think Apple won't maintain this lead, as it was a strong push from initial supply flood gates when the device was first released. Now that the initial launch demand has died down, the next quarterly numbers should show a rather stock drop. This is because they target only a few key markets.

The only reason why apple sell millions of iphones is because it is the only iOS device out there. If other manufacturer like samsung will also offer iOS device apple will be in trouble.

Interesting that Apple were up in the 4th Q in 2014. That is normally the time they release their new phones, which ironically was the i6 and 6 plus, both which came with much larger displays that Apple has ever done. So the hype around it was huge, and the market just went with it to see what the fuss was all about. Steve Jobs laughed at the idea of bigger phones, and a smaller ipad, and its ironic that Apple have had to change their stance around what Jobs really wanted to see with iphones, in order to maintain their strength within the mobile sector. Lets be honest here, if Apple had continued with a 3.5 inch screen, with the same UI, they would have been left for dead no matter what anybody says.
Im not a fan of either Apple or Samsung just so btw, as both imo have still not done anything revolutionary, instead little changes here and there but with no wow factor. Even the Samsung S6 and S6 Edge seems a bit under whelming right now

Don't you see Samsung and HTC are continuously changing their UI.
What about iphone? They are stuck at their UI from the beginning (except minor changes). Using same old home screen, same multitasking, same settings, copied Notification Center idea & so many things.

This is big considering Apple only sells Premium handsets unlike Samsung, huwwai, lenovo & xioami whose major market share comes from cheap mobiles.

people bought s4,s5 etc because of removable battery n sd card n big screen..now iphone 6plus has a big screen..and s6 has a non removable battery,no sd card.besides-holding a iphone6 is more respectable than its photocopied counterpart-s6..samsung will sink further and further into an unescapable abysss..

Who cares.. I love apple though... And I really hate samsung..

We will see the results of Samsung's new approach after first weeks S6 sales. But so far, mobile industry seems to be pretty confident about it.
A simpler phone with less removable parts and with an underlined design may nudge apple fans base.
