Samsung Galaxy S4 and S5 updates reach the UK

my Galaxy S5 is now running like a three-legged donkey following the upgrade. Screen unresponsive to touch. Three complete installs and one full crash. I finally got a working phone after two replacement handsets, and now it's ruined.

So after a day of using, came down to following conclusions for Android Lollipop 5.0.1 on S4:
1. Battery drains out much faster than on kit kat (Even with power saving mode on)
2. UX touch n feel is better than kit kat though. Quite refreshing.
Read that Google has fixed memory leak issues in 5.1 which saves battery as well. Would wait for that as it would be interesting to see if 5.1 fixes the battery drainage issues.

My Samsung Galaxy S5 was 100% PERFECT before the upgrade to Lollipop. Now my phone has been rendered completely useless. DO NOT UPGRADE TO LOLLIPOP! My phone turns itself off and on every 30 seconds, even if I power it off! This in turn drains its fully charged battery within 2 hours. It also heats up the phone so much that my speaker started to crackle and now doesn't work at all. What's the matter with Google for putting out an upgrade that can potentially destroy our phones?

I think you're out of touch with Lollipop updates. Apart from Taiwan none of India, Asia or Australia & New Zealand (SM-G900i) have a Lollipop update yet. Still 4.4.2

AnonD-374843, 16 Mar 2015Anyone know's when note2 get lollipop!!!!!If my S5 experience and loads of other users similar problems are typical, I wouldn't touch lollipop with a barge pole until it's properly debugged. It runs like someone is beta testing a crude upgrade at the moment!

It's on 4.3 and the app Internet is crashing all the time. And lags on home screen etc, you get the idea. It's slower than before, but could be some app ..?.. Does the device needs to be rooted? Read on gsmarena this morning that Lolipop is available on S4 and straightaway searched for OTA and upgraded.So far it feels amazing.
PS: Connect to wifi when looking for OTA.

loaded it 48 hrs. ago and love it. So far no problems. No surprises on the Canadian version of the Galaxy S5 on Bell Mobility.

Google "Samsung Firmware", you'll need to download & run Odin 3.07 upwards & a good USB cable.
Nerves of steel are also a good idea, because if it goes wrong you'll have a brick!

Don't do the upgrade it a Galaxy S4 that is!.
My phone found the upgrade, downloaded it and installed it, ever since its been:
Very slow to start up (90 seconds or more!)
Locking up, restarting at random, SIM card & network errors.
Blank screen for prolonged periods of time.
Locks itself back up very quickly if it does decide to work and so you're always having to put your PIN or unlock code/pattern in!
All sorts of random issues. I need to get the old 4.4.2 back on.

What about my GT-I9505? It was supposed to receive 5.0 in February !! Am almost rooting .
