satio&omnia hd are the leaders now
my girlfriend bought omnia hd in august
omnia hd is very nice phone
but
1.sound quality and speakers are not good even midrange SE phone have a better sound quality
2.HD video is not real HD and i think some VGA&WVGA phones like satio&x2&n900 can be better to HD video of omnia hd
3.tv -out is not working properly
4.design is not very good and is a bit heavy
but screen is excellent and picture quality is good and speed is very good and video is good too but not real HD
i prefer satio because 4 above

Ok so, there's been tremendous responses about this phones release and all the hiccups and frizzles. Priced at a range close to that of an unlocked iPhone 3GS, we would all have to consider comparing this phone with the 3GS side by side. Satio is a nice phone, really, only to one particular sub-group of consumers. That particular sub-group is the metro-sexuals and party-goers that is never home on Friday nights. Yes, I said it, cause these phone really only has two things, looks to impress suited with a camera you can rely on. It would be nice once that you dont have to smuggle your digital camera into a rave event just to have quality pictures of the night. I would say the construction of these phone looks much more rigid compared to the iPhone although you wouldnt want to hammer this baby as it is all plastic. Yes it has the same performance as the iPhone, but no, the web browsing and tasking experiences wouldnt be better in this phone. If you love web browsing the web with your phone, please stick to the iPhone 3GS. As for the music experience, this phone will not turn heads. Still, it does play music and all with no problems. However I want to quickly point out to all of you who has been really anal about the 3.5mm jack thats not used in the Satio. If you are really that of an analogue, you should remain using a dedicated mp3 player as there are 3.5mm to fastport adaptors selling everywhere. I dont think you would wanna waste your Satio's precious juice listening to music discreetly anyways. These phone will not embarass, it will definitely turn heads. I will be buying this phone real soon, just in time for all the upcoming parties and Halloween MONSTER!

So I have been looking at the Satio since Feb and I have to admit i was pretty excited. So now that its close to release date I've been doing some heavy research into current phones etc... and I have to admit its been surprising what I've been reading. Some for and some really against :p So its been a confusing few days of research.

I'll tell you where I'm at right now: The biggest issue here by far is the lack of 3.5mm jack. I mean WOW the response to this has been very strong. I wasn't bothered at first as I have a dedicated music player but more recently I've been considering it and yeah it annoyed me that I wouldnt be able to use my headphones and I could understand where people were coming from... That was until I found out there's adaptors, and quite a few of them that come with headphones that are apparently are of amazing quality. And just there I read that it comes with an adaptor anyways. So yeah so now im really confused with the objection of the 3.5mm jack when theres an adaptor... Its really annoyed me that people are screaming about this when theres such an easy solution where u can use any headphones you want so I'm sold on that aspect. And no I dont care its fastport. I dont clog my pockets, and I have a pocket for just my phone so the little port on the right wont bother me at all. In FACT I may like it more as it'll be sturdier than normal headphones and hence may not break as easy (a big fear of mine)

Anyhoo I've had my K800i for 3 years now and I couldnt be happier with it. No Glitches, Hitches, Breaks or anything and trust me its been through alot but its still chugging along happily and thats why I'm looking at sony again as overall sony works for me as im quite a clumsy fellow and all of the sony stuff ive gotton just works even after bad treatment. :p

The satio's screen is meant to be amazing even if its not OLED. Theres been complaints about the resistive-ness of it and Ill say im not sure on that one yet altho all the videos ive look at (a lot) seem to show that its quite sensitive and works really well.

Then theres the camera (a thing i care about alot) and its meant to be top of class blah blah as SE always have been (my k800is camera is still better than the iphone :)) I've seen sample pic and vids which are both amazing.

So yes im finished ranting. That was my 2 cents. I just thought I'd try hard to come off ... well normal and not fanboyish and explain why im really considering the satio... Theres just alot of confusing and shouting going on here... And inaccurate info! Some are saying it doesnt support microHD... it does! Just weird.

In the end though I wont make the decision before I can get my hands on it. The sad thing about that is to do this I'll need to go to s shop and so I'll have probably 50 salesmen telling me stuff I already kno and trying to sell me the phone as if theyre actual life depended on it.

                  Chino.

IMHO I think SE is one brand that you want to keep it for a long time and Satio is one of them. More phones SE and change your marketing strategy of delaying your launching of new product.

On Amazon.de (the source you cite) the price is 500 euro, not 550. Have they already reduced it?
