Samsung Galaxy S6 edge survives over 20 minutes under water

Even though it lacks waterproofing the phone kept going for quite a while after getting dunked.

So I was carried away with the S6edge video on youtube stating the phone is waterproof, had an argument with a friend about it, then i dipped my phone into water for about 2sec immediately the phone went off, tried switching it on, it brought samsung then went back off showing green then purple kinda light then the screen went black showing nothing, I tried charging it to no avail screen still showing black screen, it currently with the fan now, and am thinking of using the rice solution but i cant wait for 2days plus, do i take it to a phone repairer or just use the rice solution.

Kitkat, 05 Apr 2017If you have a samsung galaxy s6 and you drop it in the toil... moreYes, I'm a stupid with bathroom too at work. Forgot it was in back pocket and it fell in. Got it out immediately and dried it off, but problem is I had 2 more hrs to go. Put it in rice when I got home and left it overnight. Kept checking it over my 2 days off and tonite it powered up and i checked my ring app, but then it froze. Couldn't shut it down, nothing. It finally shut down on it's own. So back in the rice it goes. I've already ordered a new phone so if it comes alive all the way great, if not I'll have the other. But the rice trick does work.

I dropped my s6 Edge in the toilet. After drying it right away and rebooting the phone, the Home button and power buttons were not responding. Everything else seemed to work fine. I used a hair dryer on low heat and held it about 10-12 inches from the charge port. After about 10 minutes, the Home button was again working. I checked the power button and it started working again about a minute after the Home button. Hope this helps someone.

Son got water in his phone, tried to dry with silica beads and sunlight, still did not work, screen would go on, but battery life said 100% as soon as it was unplugged from charger it would go off. Saw a sign in Staples about Tek Dry Device Rescue, if it didn't work, I wouldn't be charged-nothing to lose. Low and behold, new life was brought to the device!! Works great...get it too a Staples Tech Center quick- tech said works best within 48 hrs.

Phone dropped in the loo for seconds - tried everything to dry it out as it had message 'BATTERY TEMP TOO LOW' and wouldn't charge. Samsung told me it was beyond repair.
Two weeks later I have my phone fully working!!

Put the phone in the oven . . . Yes the oven! At 50.degrees. Keep the door open to warm and dry out the phone. Leave for 2 hours then plug the charger In and keep in the oven. Mine fully rexharged after about 3 hrs. Worth trying as a last resort. Especially if you didn't back anything up !

dropped my phone in the potty. lol. well. I dried it with a towel as fast as possible. noticed condensation on the camera. I got my hair dryer out and used it on all the openings till the condensation was gone. Luckily, it worked. For a minute it was acting funny, ie, the keypad while texting wouldn't work properly. Shut my phone off and used the hair dryer again. Kept the hair dryer about a foot away from the phone for about 10 minutes. Charged it. And it works like nothing happened. Hope this helps. Btw, it was only in the water for about 1. second.

jimmxi, 06 Dec 2016I dropped my phone in the pool for like 7 secs and took it ... more So I dropped my phone in the toilet at work and the one thing that you don't do is turn it on I didn't know that because when I Polin it turned off automatically so I put it in my hand dryer they have in the Bathrooms and I turned it on and it was fine art seems fine then I was told never ever ever turn on the phone when dropped in water so After I put in rice I want to do it all believe it but I left my phone in rice red light was on but it was green or blue you leave it in the rice no matter what you don't take it out at all even to look at it to see if it will turn on if you leave it in there for two days don't try to turn on go charge it even charge leave it alone for another day and it should be fine I have been off my phone and it went all the way in the toilet every symptom you saying happened to your phone happened to mine and I did all those three things and yes the battery sucks but if you replace it it will be just fine but put in rice two days don't touch it at all especially to see if it will turn on once that light goes away it means your phone died just like it does normally and you have to charge it its a good thing once it dies then after two days charge don't turn it on and it should be fine
