I'm not trying to argue here but the iPhone 6 is far from the Galaxy S6 when it comes to components. The iPhone 6 with it's outdated components cost 200$ to manufacture for a pricetag of 600$, that's a 70% more for the consumer.
The Galaxy S6 on the other hand, has the highest specifications, best hardware components out there. The 14nm chip that outperformed almost every one of it's rivals, first UFS 2 (almost as good as SSD) + DDR4 storage, Corning Gorilla Glass 4 (which is the toughest display currently in the market), 16 megapixel camera with 1.9 aperture size with countless new features and a front HDR-capable 5 megapixel camera (both Cameras earned the best overall).
How much do you think these components cost Samsung?

Things are made cheaper than they are sold at so the markup becomes profit and B. Companies exist to make money for those involved. This is common across literally all forms of profit making businesses. All.

I may wait for prices to drop, but I don't have kids so waiting for 6 months to save £100 is like meh to me.
Plus if go contract it's not all paid in one go
Ps: some retailers are listing it as £620 for flat 64gb model.
Pps uk prices have 20% VAT included.

You are all crazy stupid for paying that much. Just wait 2 months after launch, and the prices will go down. Did you see the disassembly of that phone? it's almost nothing in there, just like the iPhone, they are similar in many ways, copycats. They are shinny and fancy,just to foul people like you. I can only guess what the manufacturing price is, probably something like 200€ or less. STUPID peoples, you are all filling pockets to some fat, rich individuals.

Tesco mobile in the uk are doing some really good deals.
Flat 32gb for £36 pm (1000 mins, 5000 txt 2gb data)
Edge 64gb for £43.50, no upfront cost.
If you work that out it's not much more over 2 years than buying outright and going for a low sim only tariff!
I'm guessing the flat 64gb will come in at £40 pm as it's £660 outright (so +£60 for another 32gb)
It's nice to see contract prices not been a complete rip off these days

That's really cheap considering the price we have to pay here in India.
Almost 1000$ that too for a 64 gb model S6 not edge.

Holy duck! Contract makes the smartphons very very cheap! Those are lucky who reside in countries where you can buy smartphones in contract! I hope this contract system comes to my country so that I can enjoy high end phones without shelling out $700+!
