LG G4 - you never know. With SD 808, may not be a powerhouse, but won't be a oven as well. Also it won't have the deal breakers (no SD slot, sky high price, non-removable battery in that order) which S6/edge have.
Coming to iphone 6/6+ - Are you really serious? Apple is the master of selling overpriced phones to millions of people. Iphone 6/6+ sales will be far more than S6/edge sales even for Apr/May 2015. Samsung is a wanne be apple. Can't see it happening though.

I need a phone for the basic functions and any phone for half this price will do for me.

The Exynos SOC chip in these two devices is superior to anything else out there ..it is that good..
Surprised reviews aren't making more of it but have a feeling that current software not well written to take advantage of this chip. Certainly a future proof phone for at least next 2-3 years.

I'd take a high end Jiayu or THL any day over this fashionphone. Because these phones are practical, they are good enough at everything and don't compromise with features and user experience (Which, again, is more than a few numbers or looks).

At the moment, there is no brand which could compete the features and technology of the S6 and edge. HTC M9 can't, no Z4, no G4 and Apple can't anyway, not even with the iPhone 6s when it gets released.
