"at the same performance, the Cortex-A72 will use 75% less power than an Inter Broadwell CPU. It is worth noting that Intel’s chip is overall significantly more powerful."

Just dont understand - 'same performance = but Intel more powerful?

LMAO. This is basically saying "A toyota corolla uses significantly less fuel at the same speed compared to an Mercedes S-class" I'm impressed ARM had the courage to make such an ignorant statement...

Why would any of the custom core designers such as Qualcomm be able to design better cores than ARM? Patents? Well - time will tell.

this mean its better not buying any smartphone this year. current phone still work and smooth why bother upgrade. i'm prefer upgrade when, much longer battery, better performance, less time charging and better screen

What is with the Broadwell comparison?
                            Tablet CPU competition?

Broadwell is still too expensive just for use in tablets.

Anonymous, 25 Apr 2015Core-M is not at all powerful when compared in per W basis.... moreIntel had been monopolizing the CPU market since forever, not just 5 years ago. As for performance increase, if you think harder, you would understand that the CPU in PC is way faster than all other components. for example, the reason AMD could thrash Pentium D even at half the clock speed is the shift of memory controller On-die. then the SSD which speed up the overall system that the user can felt physically, rather than thru benchmark.

The fact is current Wintel CPU is still ahead of other system components that a 4 years old Sandybridge core i5 CPU could run any games and any application today, so why would intel spend billions in R&D to improve when they can alter the existing design and charge user premium? of course, the lack of competition doesn't help. you can blame intel dirty unfair business tactic but ultimately, is AMD couldn't deliver another Athlon 64.

The current smartphone market is like PC of last decade, everyone is chasing number but never realize if these number actually mean anything in real world. just look at the QHD on a tiny 5.2" display, not forgetting site like GSMA keep mentioning any phone without QHD res or lack of 4K video is a con. just how irrational these people and sites can get?
