Only a joint project with Jolla would bring about a device that has real Nokia DNA ... alternatively, get a Lumia.

The real Nokia handset is from FINLAND, both hardware and software.

The hardware bit of that real Nokia handset still exist under different branding ... the software bit gone forever. That's the closest available reality now to a real Nokia handset if you want a Nokia.

A handset designed and manufactured by a Chinese OEM/ODM (and some are very good indeed) using a very ubiquitous Android software (also very good if not the best out there) is NOT a real Nokia even if it has the name on it. It just wouldn't differentiate itself from many similar devices already flooding the market.

              Please read carefully
" Nokia reiterates it currently has no plans to manufacture or sell consumer handsets."
Currently has no plans. The statement does not categorically rule out ever making handsets.

Nokia is almost forgotten by now. If it intends to stay alive in this fast moving world, it needs to adapt to newer trends FAST. It made a horrible mistake of not following the market few years ago, causing it to almost go bankrupt. I do not care if nokia returns to the consumer mobile business, because frankly, at this point, Nokia no longer interests me. We had good memories with Nokia, but that is all.

i think biggest turnover against nokia, they were simply too late to anticipate the smartphone era, they took wrong turn , still tried with OS WP but they failed. remember OS meego and symbian ?
i think they want to be keep leading and be different rather than following android and bet everything in symbian but it went down anyway
(excuse me for my bad english ...)

I always loved nokia by heart, more then any other company in the market...
but nokia always betrayed all of it's fans..
all this started from 2011 after discontinuation of meego and continuous till now even after the acquisition. Please Nokia! stop playing with our hearts now...
and ya who said microsoft is not cruel they also wanted to acquire whole nokia that's why they sent stephen elop there, but nokia is not that much fool like motorola who sold it's patients and rights also..
all the incomplete clauses are added by nokia in the acquisition, microsoft also wanted to acquire here maps division but nokia denied and many other things...
but who cares now, it's all over and m using Xiaomi now and i am happy with it...
still have the last nokia legend n9,
and still hoping a nokia comeback which i don think is possible... RIP nokia mobiles ...

                              U are only half correct:).
Nokia big mistake is to make wp ( may be right) but Microsoft bought Nokia only devices ( but don't forget it didn't stopped Nokia completely out of business because it may again enter in smartphone business again in 2016 or 2017.)
Microsoft is not cruel like google which bought Motorola just to save its Android patents and allow Sony, lg etc to make devices. Then within a year google sold it to Chinese company, it sold very low value then it really spend when it acquired.( keeping 17 important patents)

Am too a great fan of Nokia. But lets talk facts.
You all blaming Microsoft for Nokia downfall, this tells how childish you are. Nokia who once were mobile phone leading leaders, they are not child or innocent to fall in once words. So its wrong to blame Microsoft. Its Nokia official blunder mistakes, miscalculation and decisions taken by Nokia.
2)The second point is Microsoft didn't bought it's Nokia mobile decision if Microsoft is cruel like Google it may had bought Nokia whole like google acquired Moto and put complete block Nokia and closed doors completely. If Microsoft really cruel like google you people don't have chance to talk like this.
Now don't tell me am an Microsoft fan, really am an Nokia fan and the phone am using is 4 Nokia phone. That's why am saying thanks to Microsoft for not blocking Nokia completely. Thanks Microsoft

Nokia was going nowhere in terms of improving the technology of their phones when the iphone came along. They were simply idling along like a bunch of idiots. Apple and samsung quite frankly saved us from the incompetence of nokia. I'm happy that they have no plans in coming back anytime soon.
