It is too much load for the phone considering the 128 GB internal memory and it may slow down the phone performance considering the expansion memory slot up to 64 GB not 128 GB as indicated in the report. It might be only for the users who are looking at the heavy users and for others There is the 16 or 32 GB versions which give more value for money

              hi,
ZEN fone 2 is MID range phone with monster specs. Its not right to compare against 50k phones. This is excellent VFM phone.
I am liking it for performance with dual SIM funtionality and massive storage.
But let down is not so good camera. Now a days above average camera is MUST with ALL phones as we hardly get time to take out SLR for shooting day today shots. Is camera really bad on zenfone? Currently I am using Moto G (second gen). Hows zenfone camera compared to Moto G?
I want to get 64GB version. When it will be there for sales?
              Regards,

Marcel, 30 Apr 2015I don't want to laugh, so I won't, but no, the Zenfone 2 is... moreWhy do people keep drinking the Kool-aid that these companies give out. A 4k screen, thinness and other gimmicks don't make a so called high-end phone. I can afford the S6 but it's over priced hype. You don't need a 4K screen for any phone period. I don't want a 6mm thin phone either because it entails a battery compromise. Rumour is the S6 has horrible battery life. So it's got all the bells and whistles but a battery that can't handle them adequately. My ZenFone_2_ZE551ML 4GB has received two updates in the last week that have turned it into a battery beast (my one major complaint) so support wise Asus have been excellent. This is a Top Tier phone priced fairly unlike Samsung, HTC, Apple etc. Five things make it a better phone than the S6 or anything else out there: SD slot, Dual-sim, 4GB, 5.5" screen, Price. In other words, practical features that matter. Not over hyped gimmicks.

However, I travel a great deal to areas that do not have fast wifi, or any at all. So I will strongly consider this phone because of its storage. I point out that different features appeal to different people. I do not care if it is a mid-level phone. I do not consider that to be an attractive price, though.

AnonD-213026, 30 Apr 2015asus should be marketing this phone like crazy. it's alread... moreUnfortunately, that's not the case. The s6 has topped everything as of late, but the Zenfone is a decent phone but lacks many of the features and components of the latest, high tier phones. One major factor going for the s6 is the new method of flash memory, and neither Zenfone or any current gen phone has the new flash memory method, and Asus possibly made a flaw in the phone by not sealing the phone, and making the battery removable, thus the phone is vulnerable to water, and so on.

Marcel, 30 Apr 2015I don't want to laugh, so I won't, but no, the Zenfone 2 is... morethe g4 is a downgraded g flex 2. the only significant categories that the g4 is superior to the zenfone are the display and camera, the latter being more obviously so. the overall display tech is governed by not only resolution and contrast. power efficiency also plays a role, and while the g4 has indeed the better display, everything considered, it isn't by a long shot. of course, the quantum display is still to be proven in commercial use but it looks to be a solid tech for now.

the chipset is not so much a downgrade, but it still is, no matter what lg says to sugarcoat it. the 810 is the more powerful chip. but the lower clocked, hexacore 808 is supposed to be more power efficient and battery friendly. there's less heating, less throttling, better performance. however, chipsets shouldn't be sacrificing the power they're made for. the fact that the g4 has to settle for less just to last long enough in one charge to be competitive is a letdown overall. furthermore, the gpu has been downgraded too, and couple that with a QHD display, we can make good guesses as to how that's going to affect power usage aka graphics-hungry gaming. of course, lg may have done something with their software to squeeze out the best performance out of the g4 with the diminished power. time and real world usage will tell and when they do, things will be a lot clearer.

i can't say the the lg ui is superior to the zen ui. or vice versa. that's subjective and shouldn't be used as a point for healthy comparison. the fact is the zen ui works fluidly and is virtually hitch-free. can't say the same with touchwiz in the s6 but in fairness, it's the best touchwiz variant to date and is actually pleasant.

for build quality, what makes you say the g4 is superior to the zenfone 2? as far as objectivity goes, there's not much that separates the two. the leather backing is an aesthetic feature that doesn't in any way make the g4 superior to the zenfone 2 in quality. if anything, it and the bold stitching makes it tacky. but then again, it's subjective, so this shouldn't be taken too seriously.

pricing is something that should, though. and for the bang for the buck, the zenfone 2 is the best handset out there. we'll see what lg cooks up with in terms of pricing the g4 but the only things that make the g4 premium are the display and camera, and the former still has to prove itself. the build is questionable, and if the leather backing makes the g4 insanely expensive then well, that's another shame.

the zenfone 2 can hold its own against the s6 but i didn't say it's better. objectively, nothing yet is better than the exynos 7420, the s6/edge has been objectively evaluated to sport one of the best cameras in any smartphone to date (but the g4 may be able to duke it out), and it's also proven to have the best display, period. so no, the zenfone 2 isn't better than the s6 overall and i never said it is. the price for the s6 is ridiculous though but that's to be expected with the materials used for manufacturing it. the g4 doesn't deserve a high price. and the zenfone 2's price is the best deal.

The LG G4 and S6 are top tier phones with top tier prices.

Like the OnePlus One is, the Asus Zenfone 2 is also priced to undercut the rivals from the mainstream manufacturers

Not by a long shot. The Zenfone is a MID-RANGE phone, with good specs for that class only. Everything the G4 has (resolution, clarity, brightness, contrast, camera, speed, UI optimisation, support, build quality) is superior. And between 3 and 4 GB of ram, there isn't that much visible difference. (There can be between 2 and 4, though.) Similar with the S6. That the Zenfone 2 gets within sight in benchmarks is remarkable, but real-world use for power users will show a difference.

The Zenfone 2 is not for power users, and is priced accordingly. It is a great option, though time will tell how much support it gets, and if everything does run well on it. But many are happy with it, and that's great for it. But it's no G4/S6.

With such amount of storage they could omit the SD slot but cheap expansion is welcome nonetheless.
Top that with high quality high speed flash, fingers crossed.
