01 May, 2015
Although Nexus 6 battery issues aren't exactly rare, it's not often it actually explodes.

J2ME user, 01 May 2015Entertained myself by destroying, a couple of old and unuse... moreI have never trusted any device made in China.

All my devices are Samsung or LG.

Those Samsung that burst into flames in the news were all cloned sets or the user had put in fake China made batteries. They call that OEM batteries. Some morons even used imitation chargers to recharge their Samsung device causing the explosion.
      I have used the S2 - S3 - S3 LTE - S4 - S4 LTE-A - NOTE 3 - ALPHA - A7 & S6 Edge there weren't a single issue with batteries. All were reliable as I used their original charger.

John, 01 May 2015is there a phone that is not made in china?Well flagship Samsung models are made in Korea while others are nade in Vietnam. HTC is made in Taiwan. The majority of the rest are made in China. Or at least their batteries are made in China. Sub standard sub quality QC and materials as always.

This is not side effect of hi-tech and abviously not overracting, subject is life and everything is matter.

Typical overreacting. Technology is not perfect, and it fails. Google/Moto should replace her device, investigate, and move on. Do you stop driving cars because they sometimes break down?

Sure you didn't just leave it in the microwave too long? I abuse the crap outta mine using hotspot on the go daily as my job requires. It gets warm at times while charging yet remains inside of a case with as well has a carbon fiber adhesive stuck on the back. I doubt this reduces heat but maybe. I've yet see any warping or battery explosion issues. My advise is keep it out of direct sunlight when charging? I'll continue purchasing Nexus devices as they remain ahead of the game.

This is the phone that Google is using to promote it's new Project Fi, which looks to be a really good deal compared to what I have now (Verizon); however, now that I am hearing these horror stories, I think I'll wait. :(

They have made a right bog up of this version of Nexus,,it was a big lanky pile of poo that sold terribly . Compared to the Nexus 5 it was just stupid idea and hope Nexus line is still here and Next Nexus is a turbo Nexus 5.

I would almost vote Nexus 5 as one of the best smartphones I've owned I even liked design even though hater of the big boring slabs. LG do make good screens ,,if they did make it and the oversize camera lens and Nexus on back just looked so sporty and cool.
