01 May, 2015
Although Nexus 6 battery issues aren't exactly rare, it's not often it actually explodes.

This is one of two cases:
1 - Defective hardware/manufacturing issue with the specific device
2 - these were not normal circumstances and something external caused it

There is no other possible cause, hardware is extensively tested before going into mass production to make sure it doesn't just explode on it's own.

Why do Google still sell Nexus devices.

Also this is why built in batteries are better

Its going to be really funny when Google give up on Nexus devices completely because they can't make any money from them. Which, obviously, has nothing to do with a complete lack of interchangeable batteries, a lack of expandable memory and a strategy to push people into using cloud storage whether they like it or not. In the long term, quality control is only a small problem for the Nexus devices, although there seems to be many manufacturers who do not have these types of battery issues.

What else can be expected seeing the trend of 1000s of cheap phones in the market. How do you think these Chinese companies (xiaomi, mezu,Lenovo, vivo, oneplus, Motorola, etc) are selling at dirt cheap prices Even after using respectable processors? Cheap batteries, cheap screens, cheap other internals.
But unfortunately they are eating the large share of quality companies due to the cheap price policy :(

I can't believe that this phones battery suddenly swelled up and exploded. Motorola will look in to that.

I thought Li-Po (Lithium ion Polymer) batteries were safer because I was doing research on that and found out Li-Ion (Lithium ion) is dangerous and expolodes violently causing fire and smoke in a phone.

I'm confused now don't which is safer now. :0

Its a good thing I didn't get the Nexus 6 phone on contract. I got my new phone that has Li-Ion battery although its not removable but hey I'm happy.

That's Li Polymer batteries, they need to be treated carefully or they will get damaged and explode.

Li ion doesn't which is why most phones use it as they have good charging cycles.

Li po batteries lasts longer than Li Ion batteries, as they hold more charge.

Lot of HTC and LG smartphones have Li-Po batteries built in and comes with thier own specific chargers that is vital.

I thought Samsung is the only company worst in making swelled up batteries! I guess Motorola joins them as well!

Android phones are like a blessing from Google. may be apple did this to create a bad name.

appple is jealous of Google nexus 6 sales.
