I'm certain that it'll run just as good as Windows 8.1 runs, or else they'd be shooting themselves in the foot. if IT WERE TRUE, it'd be nonsensical for them to even support phones with 512 mb of RAM. this isn't Android, Windows wont need high end hardware to run smoothly.

Honestly since I switched from Android to Windows phone I haven't regretted my choices. But about article. Yes 640 is affordable and XL is also there with nominally higher price while equipped with high level gear. But. W10 so far seen on preview will not be even remotely smooth anything less than 2GB ram. I dare to claim that 3 GB is recommended. So keeping that mind I wouldn't run to buy 640XL just yet. Same goes without saying with 640.

I've been with android since its inception, its boring now, I've tried tons of Launchers but nothing keeps me at bay. Don't be so quick to judge without trying the platform.

This'll be my next phone comming from my current phone: the LG G3, so you can't say I'm a fanboy for making this statement.

Its just marketing, the specs of majority Lumias are the same. Every device will get update pretty fast, if they do get updates.
