I thought that giving the technology at the forefront of the curve and proving it can be done without costing the earth, bare in mind that they're already skimping on the development of an OS, the architecture of this chipset has already been used with CM12 devices so there is very little work to be done, not to mention no advertising or marketing campaign, think there was only a charger in the box afaik, so no i think they've saved enough.
Giving us last years hardware is not going to win me over, i don't care if it is half the price of an S6 edge, whats the point when i want the best, not to mention that you probably won't be able to buy this on launch anyway due to it's failing invite system, I ended up with the Note 4 instead of the 1+1 and I can see myself getting the note 5 instead of the 1+2, they're their own worst enemy.
No doubt the phone will still be great, I just don't agree with using the 810 in a device set for a release mid to late 2015

With all the bad rap plaguing the 810..hopefully the current version of the 810 is problem free. Else the QSD820 is what should rightfully be at the core of the OnePlus Two as well as 2015 Nexus.

Anonymous, 08 May 2015Why don't they put in a SD820? Mi 5 will have one...OnePlus won't put an 820 in the OnePlus Two, because they are trying to keep the price on the device low. So they have to cut corners somewhere. Having the latest, cutting edge chipset is not a way to control cost.
Their strategy is similar to what Motorola does with the Moto X. Use slightly old chipsets and some other components, which were last year's flagship components, keep the price down this way, but still pretend they are making a device in the flagship category.

Anonymous, 08 May 2015as long as support 64-bit and more or equal 5" is good... moreThe reason the Snapdragon 810 is able to be a 64 bit processor is because Qualcomm crammed some "off the shelf" cores into the processor, rather than designing them in-house as they usually do. Snapdragon wasn't ready yet with their own 64 bit design and didn't want to be left behind by Apple and Samsung's new 64 bit processors. But this departure from Snapdragon's design process is also what led to the overheating issues with the 810. So altough it's nice to have a 64 bit processor, the 810 is really not how you want get there. There will be no advantages and you will get a processor slower than the ones that precided it, because of all the throttling it does to avoid overheating. Snapdragon claims they will return to their usual in-house design process for their chipsets with the 820. You're better off waiting for that or getting a phone with any processor other than the 810. ArsTechnica explains all of this in the article from them that I link to a couple posts below.

i dont want buttons on screen i want it below the screen as in oneplus one. and camera should be 16 to 21mp i like oneplus one but it lack some featurees like QHD screen and camera and dual sim

For those who don't believe in the 810 heat issues, just read this analysis of the 810's performance from ArsTechnica:

The problem is very real. The 810 isn't going to overheat and cause your phone to go thermonuclear. But what does happen is that the processor throttles itself heavily to prevent the overheating. The end result is that the 810 has worse (slower) performance than older supposedly lesser CPUs like the 801 and 805.
(By the way, the OnePlus One uses the 801, so be prepared for the OnePlus two "upgrade" to be slower.)
Putting the 810 in the OnePlus Two is totally a dumb move on OnePlus' part. They could have used and older cheaper processer, it would have performed better, and they could have charged less money for the phone.
But OnePlus has always been a bit more about flash, specs, and marketing, than substance.
I suspect there are also other elements of the 810 chipset that OnePlus may want and so they are willing to sacrifice performance to get it. Processors have gotten so much faster, they probably figure most people can be fooled and won't notice the difference. (They already tried to trick everyone into thinking they put a 5.5" screen in a typical 5" sized phone, in the run up to the OnePlus One release, and that turned out to be complete marketing hogwash.)

It is a new device with top of the line specs, i believe it's worth $100 more. I rather liked the first one to be honest. I don't know why some of yall are complaining, it's still going to be priced $200 - 250 LESS than the competition.

well another day another cellphone announcement. this devices are all the same now today vivo dis and tomorrow meizu that, dont forget the drama king samsung and his queen apple or is it the other way round, and the dark prince HTC lurkin behind a curtain waiting to take swing at em. this thing bein goin on and on nowonder nokia bailed on this ceelphome makin mad-horse chain of media drama. for what its worth get excited about it but honestly all this cellphones put foward to the public are all the same they even bump up the displays but honestly they change absolutely nothing when it comes to using them for what ever they are made to do. chears fellas enjoy da new oneplus two, but wait it is speced out just like a htc m9 or that other Chinese cheep cellphone

GTK, 07 May 2015Those reports of the overheating of the snapdragon 810 are ... morethere are different versions of the 810.. they are already on revision 3 which has way less overheating issues than the first ten that went into the G Flex 2. by the time the two goes into production the 810 should be a stable SoC that lives up to its potential.

Xiaomi also said that it HAD issues but their MiNote Pro SD810 is ok because they are using the latest version 2.1 of the SD810. And companies that got too excited of using the old SD810 will suffer.
