Is it normal to be getting multiple software updates literally one after the other? Either it's because it hasn't been updated in a long time or there's some kind of issue?

Today (18 Nov 2020) received an update notification on my S6:
75.44MB - G920KKKS3ETJ1 / G920KKTC3ETJ1 / G920KKKU3ERG1
Points me to: doc.samsungmobile.com/SM-G920K/KTC/doc.html -> which seems to indicate it's a security update.
Haven't installed it _yet_. Seems bit odd after so long.

I've received new update too, but the question is - why now, after 3 years? Is there a tracker build inside, so government can spy on us more easily?

Hi I did a software update the other month and since then I have been unable to use my phone. The fast charge doesn't work and the phone is not reading my SIM card but it's not saying no SIM it's just saying emergency calls only. My Sim card works in my old phone and my s6 has been brilliant since I've had it. any ideas how I can revert back to old software update? or get this fixed?

RichardK, 23 Apr 2018My Samsung S6 Edge+ failed 3 days ago. After overnight char... moreUPDATE: RESOLVED.
A Samsung online chat recommended Samsung Support in Wembley, London. Took it there, waited. Chatted to another customer about her problem: how to stop the camera app from displaying Whatsapp images, apparently because of an app setting. Then it was her turn. Obese support guy looked at it, told her the behaviour was 'normal'. She said it had not happened before. He said it was in the latest update, and sent her away. My turn...
Obese guy confirmed my problem, plugged the phone into an engineering rig, stared at the screen, took the phone into the back office for a teabreak, came back and said it was 'the motherboard' and at £229 not worth repairing. He said Samsung did not take responsibility for the software update nor for the motherboard. Next...
Knowing it was unlikely to be 'the motherboard' since it was displaying text and images, I consulted an uber tech friend. He said probably the battery, it could not provide the startup current. Since the battery is non-removable, and the phone was useless as is, friend suggested a freeze dry method AT MY OWN RISK: wrap the phone in absorbent paper then in a plastic bag to prevent ingress of moisture, and freeze for a few hours (in the freezer). Thaw gently, still wrapped, and dry. Plug in. Lo and behold my Samsung S6 Edge+ works again!!
I think the obese guy needs re-education in technology and customer service.
