jdm1992, 28 May 2015What do you have on your phone that takes up 98gb? Movies? On my S5, I had 16GB of internal memory which was way too lttle (I had to use FolderMount to be able to install what I needed.
I usually don't play games on the phone (Hearthstone being the only exception), but I still needed to mount part of the SD card for the internal memory (about 7GB).

I had a 128GB SD card on the S5 with the following :

              - Around 15GB of music (I prefer having access to it offline, for 2 reasons : some places, like the train, don't always have signal; and I only have 2GB data per month, which would be way too limited if I started streaming my music).

              - 7GB of data from internal storage (mounted)

              - 4GB Titanium backup

              - Around 7GB Various stuff (a movie or a few episodes of a TV show, mangas, work stuff, ..)

              - Close to 75GB pictures and videos taken with the camera.
I got a 2,5 year old daughter, so I've been taking a lot of pictures, and filming a lot (including in 4K since I have the hardware at home to watch it too), and I also like to take pictures of nature in general (macros, sunsets, ...)

Since I had trouble getting my hands on a 128GB version of the S6, I checked if I could have enough with 64GB.
I thought I could just clean the pictures and videos from the device more often since I upload them automatically to my NAS anyway.

              On a 64GB, I would need :
              - Around 22GB (15 from internal and 7 mounted on SD card) for system, apps and app data.
              - 15GB for my music (no real way around that one).
              - 5GB for various stuff (if I clean up a bit).

Keep Titanium backup on my PC and just copy when needed (which could be annoying as it saved me a few times when I needed to recover the data for an app that I needed right away).

That means 42GB taken, so around 20GB remaining for pictures, videos (knowing that 4K takes a lot of space) and new apps and data, cache, etc..

It still felt like a big limitation for an expensive device though so I finally got my hands on the 128GB, and I'm glad I did, since I'm already using more than half the space, even though I didn't copy the pictures from the S5 to the S6.

Rather it refers to the app inefficiently closing apps or poor performance when memory is not freed correctly.

Anonymous, 28 May 2015bad phone.memory leak. bad battery. no more samsung.Bad phone? Currently its arguably the best android handset available.

Memory leak? There is an update that is slowly reaching all handsets with blistering results.

Bad battery? Put it side by side with the G4's larger battery and it outlasts it easily. Great optimisation and efficiency.

                                      No Samsung? Your loss boss.
