While Apple only has to update at maximum 7 different configurations of an OS, if you count every itineration as a separate version. While you will have each Android manufacturer dealing with the same. While Apple is completely first part, other companies are dealing with a third party OS, customizing it, and THEN optimizing for each phone. So, as you can probably see, how much more difficult it would be for Android to penetrate the market.

Imagine, if Xiaomi sells 4GB RAM, with Octa Core CPU, Expandable Memory, etc with the Price of only $300 then what will happen to Apple? The sales will be down from 65mn to 10mn immediately.
You should understand why Apple wants iSheeps to follow them blindly and Apple has successfully succeeded to fool the iFools.
