Firstly Handsets are just a small part of Blackberries business, secondly there are still lots of people that want handsets with physical keyboards. Personally I use a blackberry because of the fantastic OS and the best touch keyboard I have come across and I have used a lot of other platforms and handsets.

And all this time I thought their claims of John Chen being big and successful in turning around failing companies into profitability hold true. All pressure is on him now, I can't imagine how much. I won't be surprised if he experiences heart conditions

The problem is not that BB is (presumably) releasing devices running Android - that's something they should have figured out years ago - but that they still believe that the classic BB phone design and physical keyboard is desirable by any significant subset of smartphone users. It's not.

Even worse, they're now throwing ridiculous square and super-elongated candy bar shaped devices into the market to see if they stick as differentiators, as if their only problem is that BB's are too similar to iPhones and Androids. What? The classic BB design language, form-factor, keyboard... those are already MAJOR differentiators from today's most popular smartphones. The fact that they aren't shared by any of today's most popular smartphones should be BB's first clue that those features are no longer desirable. Accept it and move on, BB.

The BB of today is all but dead as a company. Their smartphone market-share currently lies at 0.5%. 0.5%! I'm not joking when I say that I could do a better job as BB CEO. They can only hope that some (misguided) company out there still sees value in the BB brand and decides to purchase them.

Blackberry should learn something. They are the real cause of their loss. Why should they limit the android powered blackberry to at and t only. People have been waiting for android powered blackberry. And for the bb passport. How can a phone with snapdragon 800 be sold at 550 dollars when you can get lg g2 for half price. Pricing is the key cause of their loss.

Another step in the wrong direction under Chen. First, thinking that new phones with analog keyboards would be a big hit, and now moving away from BOS10.x to Android.

Even a dumb phone has a pause button. I highly doubt windows 10 would be a finished prosuvt.
Somwtimes it is embarassing to have a 40 MP phone which doesnt have pause button and HDR mode.

Too late! They should have seen the writing on the wall and made this move years ago.

Interesting. I love the passport. But apps are rubbish. Android on bb10 is terrible. So maybe this is the best option for them. .
But I think they have left it a bit late to make a huge difference. They should have tried this couple years back. Think I will jump to windows 10. The apps seem to be getting on board .

                                The rumours continue.

Well, if BlackBerry heads to the Android OS - looks like I will be too.
