Anonymous, 24 Jul 2015This tab A with S pen is already in most of south-east asia... moreSamsung unveiled it so quietly that gsmarena just realized its existence now. I got to agree the screen resolution is too low. Even for a smartphone standard that 132ppi is super low. I guess Samsung is aiming to create a long lasting device. They put 6000mah battery for this thing. With low spec hardware, battery that size should let it run for 2 days at least.

I remember when Samsung was laughing at Apple for 4:3 aspect ratios in their iPads, non removable batteries , non expandable storage and aluminium unibody in their iPhones..... And now look...... What a company

I have it, it's nice but the screen resolution is very bad, that is why I use it for writing only and I use the galaxy tabs 8.4 for the rest.
I wish if they did a tab s 8.4 with pen.

it has been launched in Indonesia since May 2015 ... poor tablet , expensive price. add USD 80 more and you can get Samsung 8.4 S ,, better.

TheNeighbor, 24 Jul 2015Wow, my Galaxy Note 8 has better specs than this! Why do th... moreLol.... beats me.

But here is my best guess. Samsung is competing with the iPad. So here are the dilemmas.
                          1. Slim
                          2. Pen

If its slim it cannot have pen. If it have pen, it cannot be slim. So they drop it from the S series totally.

So Samsung release the Tab S2 to compete with iPad... and the A series for the low end market.

Personally i prefer they try the "pen" + good screen + good soc again.

My old note10.1 got bigger screen and res, battery and so on... I start to worry that note5 and other devices wont come with better specs than last years.

Wouldn't really call it a "mid-ranger" with a screen res like that. Feels like Samsung is trying to get rid of low-end screens and tries to put them wherever they can.

And that SoC... want to see benchmarks, but something tells me it's also not a "mid-ranger"

                                    Looks like 2011-2012 tab spec...
This resolution and chipset are... creazy... who will buy it?

For the other hand S Pen is a big plus...
So... nobody will buy it. Not for over 300$...

Wow, my Galaxy Note 8 has better specs than this! Why do this? It should have been at least 200ppi. 130+ ppi would be so blurry!
