can i?, 29 Jul 2015After 1 year can i go back to win 7 if i dont like win 10.?Nope you cant your win 7 key is embedded to win 10 after the upgrade. You have to buy a new key to activate win 7 if you upgrade even once.

Before step 3, run Windows update and hit check for updates, then while its doing that, do step 3 and windows update will suddenly change to downloading windows 10

So does the IME from Google - on any system. They claim to use it to improve correct conversion from kana to kanji, and they probably do it mainly for that. But they might also be using the info contained in there for other purposes.
As for collecting search input, you can turn it off by turning off Cortana - not something I'd want to use anyway. Cortana needs to get info about you to work because that's how the technology works. Without the info, it won't work as precisely as it has to to be useful. As with IME input, it's a double-edged sword.
The inconsistent UI has been there in windows for ages, like legacy dialog windows, old win95 icons, etc. Microsoft just doesn't care enough about that. It looks unpolished and it sucks, yes. Does it reduce the functionality? No.
I don't like the forced re-activation of defender either. I'm sure you could theoretically disable the whole defender service via services menu. Same thing with windows update - stop and disable the service and you won't be forced to install updates anymore. If you want windows to work as you want it, instead of how Microsoft wants it to work, you have to use workarounds.
I can see why the made the two settings above work as they do, but I don't need them. But then, I'm on linux most of the time anyway, so occasionally booting to win10 for a game or two is all I need it for. If I want to be productive or do sensitive work, I'd rather do it on an OS I've (quite literally) built from the ground up myself.
